•Normal color transition• Most of my clients - be it doula, birth photography or childbirth ed students - have NEVER seen a physiological birth when we begin working together. Sometimes when a baby is born purple or grey parents are very concerned, even though it is a normal process of transition that babies go through as they begin oxygenating their bodies. I hope that through imagery and real birth stories, that doulas and photographers can help inspire and educate the next generation of birthers. Birth is normal. You are meant to do this.

•Breech, Please• When Nina was told by her medical provider that her only option for birthing her breech baby was a scheduled cesarean surgery, she decided to seek out other opinions. With her incredible support team, perfect intuition & instincts, and the capable team at .wisconsin.health, she pursued and delivered her baby vaginally instead. .aleida

•documentary style• Some folks have asked why I don't take images in a fine art style or post with highly filtered editing. I'm so very grateful to do this kind of real, artistic, but incredibly human work. Sometimes there are kinks or twists and turns to your story. The continuous birth support presence, gorgeous imagery of your family growing AND documentation to help with the celebrations and the processing is the combo that is incredibly important to me.

•dilation station• better known as the toilet. This birthing position is incredibly helpful to progress labor. It's less active than standing or squatting and your body is already used to releasing your pelvic floor while on the toilet. Birthing people can sit forward and lean onto partner as pictured here, or sit backward and lean on the tank with a bolster or pillow to prop up their head for ultimate comfort.

•A birth story in 10 images•
This mother was rip-roaring when I arrived, surrounded by the loving guidance of her doula and expert medical care of her midwives. She brought her long awaited baby earth side in a slow, sustained, athena-like effort. The emotion was palpable when her baby was finally on her chest. Well done mama! .glow.doula

Our birth tubs are something special. 🛁💙
Spacious, deep, and designed with laboring people in mind, our tubs give you the room to actually move. Shift positions, open your hips, get on hands and knees, float between contractions. The water supports your body weight so you can focus entirely on what your body needs in each moment.
Warm water is one of the most powerful natural tools for managing labor and when you have a tub big enough to truly move in, it becomes something else entirely. So many of our clients describe getting into the tub as an immediate wave of relief.
