Mom...
You belong in the picture.
Not when life feels less chaotic.
Not when your baby starts sleeping through the night.
Now.
As a Northern Utah and Southern Utah family photographer, I meet so many incredible women who spend weeks planning everyone else's outfits.
They pick out the cutest dress for their daughter.
They find shoes for the toddler.
They schedule the session.
They pack the snacks.
They think about everyone else...
And somewhere along the way, they quietly decide they don't deserve to be in front of the camera.
Can I gently challenge that thought?
Because one day, these photos won't belong to you anymore.
They'll belong to your children.
Years from now, they won't be zooming in to see if your jeans fit perfectly.
They won't notice the stretch marks you worry about.
They'll see the woman who made them feel safe.
The one who kissed scraped knees.
Who stayed up through sleepless nights.
Who packed lunches, folded laundry, wiped tears, celebrated victories, and loved them every single day.
That's who they'll see.
And they'll be so grateful you stepped in front of the camera.
I've photographed families from Salt Lake City, American Fork, Lehi, Provo, and throughout Northern Utah, all the way down to St. George, Cedar City, and the beautiful landscapes of Southern Utah.
You know what every single family has in common?
No one has ever looked back and said...
"I wish Mom wasn't in these."
But I have heard countless people say...
"I wish we had more photos with my mom."
Read that again.
Because it's important.
Your children deserve photographs with the person who loved them the most.
Not because you're perfect.
But because you're their mom.
And to them...
That's everything.
❤️ So here's your permission slip.
Stop waiting.
Get in the frame.
Laugh with your babies.
Love on your family.
The laundry can wait.
Childhood won't.
👇 I want to hear from you...
What's one thing you've been putting off because you're waiting for the "perfect time?"
Let's encourage each other in the comments. ❤️
📌 Save this post if you need this reminder—or send it to a mama who needs to hear it today.

This is probably one of the most common questions I get from engaged couples...
"Should we do a first look?"
And my answer might surprise you...
There isn't a right or wrong answer.
After photographing weddings throughout Northern Utah and Southern Utah for over 15 years, I've seen absolutely beautiful wedding days with a first look.....and equally beautiful wedding days without one.
The right choice comes down to what matters most to YOU.
🤍 If you choose a first look...
You get a quiet, intimate moment together before the ceremony.
The nerves usually melt away.
Many couples tell me it's one of their favorite memories because they finally get a moment to breathe together before the whirlwind begins.
A first look also allows us to complete many of your portraits before the ceremony, which means you can spend more time enjoying cocktail hour with your guests.
🤍 If you wait until the ceremony...
Nothing compares to that feeling of seeing each other for the very first time as you walk down the aisle.
The anticipation.
The emotion.
The tears.
It's an unforgettable moment that many couples have dreamed about their entire lives.
Neither option is better.
They're simply different experiences.
As your photographer, my job isn't to tell you what you should do.
It's to help you create a wedding day that feels true to your relationship.
Because your wedding shouldn't look like everyone else's.
One thing I always remind my couples is this:
Years from now, you won't remember whether you followed every wedding trend.
You'll remember how your heart felt.
The butterflies.
The laughter.
The overwhelming joy of marrying your best friend.
That's what truly matters.
And that's exactly what I want your photographs to preserve.
👇 Let's settle a fun debate!

If I could give every senior one piece of advice before their session, it would be this:
Don't try to be someone you're not.
Social media makes it so easy to feel like your senior pictures have to look exactly like everyone else's.
The same poses.
The same trendy locations.
The same Pinterest inspiration.
But here's the thing...
The seniors whose galleries I remember most after 15+ years of photographing seniors across Northern Utah and Southern Utah are the ones who embraced exactly who they are.
The baseball player who insisted on ending his session on the field where he'd spent countless hours practicing.
The girl who brought her horse because she couldn't imagine her senior year without him.
The dancer who wore her pointe shoes one last time before graduation.
The future nurse who wanted photos in front of the college where she'd be starting her next chapter.
Those sessions aren't memorable because they're perfect.
They're memorable because they're personal.
When you book a senior session with me, I want to know you.
What makes you light up?
What are your dreams after graduation?
What music do you blast in your car?
What's your favorite place in Utah?
Because the more your session reflects your story, the more meaningful your photos become.
Whether we're chasing golden light in the mountains of Northern Utah, wandering the fields of Utah County, exploring downtown Salt Lake City, or creating magic among the red rocks of St. George and Southern Utah, your gallery should feel like someone could look at it and immediately say...
"Yep... that's so YOU."
That's the goal.
Not perfection.
Not trends.
Not Pinterest.
Authenticity.
Because trends will change.
But being yourself?
That never goes out of style.
✨ And I promise—that confidence always photographs beautifully.
👇 I'd love to hear from you...
If your personality had to be described with just three words, what would they be?
Drop them in the comments! I can't wait to read them. 👇

After photographing weddings for more than 15 years, there's one mistake I see couples make over and over again...
They underestimate how long photos actually take.
Not because the photography takes forever—but because your wedding day deserves room to breathe.
The best wedding days aren't the ones that are packed minute-by-minute. They're the ones where you actually get to enjoy them.
As a Northern Utah and Southern Utah wedding photographer, one of my biggest jobs isn't just taking beautiful photos—it's helping you create a timeline that allows you to be present.
Here's what I recommend to almost every couple:
🤍 Add 10–15 extra minutes to every major part of your day.
That little bit of breathing room makes a huge difference if:
Hair and makeup runs behind (it almost always does!)
Family members wander off before photos
Your flower girl decides she's done cooperating 😅
Guests stop you to congratulate you
You simply want a quiet moment together after the ceremony
Those aren't delays.
They're part of your story.
Whether you're planning a mountain wedding in Northern Utah, a luxury venue in Utah County, an intimate celebration in Salt Lake City, or a breathtaking red rock wedding in Southern Utah, a well-planned timeline gives you something priceless:
The freedom to actually experience your wedding day instead of feeling like you're racing through it.
One of my favorite moments to build into every timeline is 10–15 minutes for just the two of you after the ceremony.
No guests.
No distractions.
No schedule.
Just a chance to breathe, laugh, soak it all in, and realize...
You're married.
Ironically, those quiet moments often create some of the most emotional photographs of the entire day.
Because the best wedding photos don't happen when everything is perfectly posed.
They happen when you're simply present.
👇 I'd love to know...
If you're married, what part of your wedding day flew by the fastest?
If you're engaged, what part are you looking forward to the most?

One of the biggest misconceptions about senior pictures is that they're all about the outfits.
Don't get me wrong—I love helping my seniors plan what to wear! But the sessions that really stand out are the ones that tell a story about who you are.
As a Northern Utah and Southern Utah senior photographer, my goal isn't to create photos that look like everyone else's. I want you to look back years from now and instantly remember this season of your life.
Here are five things I always encourage my seniors to bring:
✨ 1. Something that represents your hobbies.A volleyball, football, dance shoes, guitar, horse, hiking boots, books, paintbrushes—whatever lights you up.
✨ 2. A casual outfit and a dressier outfit. This gives your gallery variety and makes your photos feel like multiple sessions in one.
✨ 3. Accessories you actually wear.Your favorite hat, layered necklaces, a denim jacket, cowboy boots, or even your letterman jacket can add personality without feeling overdone.
✨ 4. Someone who makes you laugh.Whether it's Mom, your best friend, or even your sibling, having someone there who keeps you relaxed can make all the difference.
✨ 5. Confidence.And if you don't have it yet... borrow mine. ❤️
You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need modeling experience. I'll guide you every step of the way so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands or where to look.
Whether we're photographing in the mountains of Northern Utah, the wildflowers of Utah County, downtown Salt Lake City, or the stunning red rock scenery around St. George, we'll create images that feel authentic, timeless, and uniquely you.
Because these aren't just graduation photos.
They're the beginning of your next chapter.

If you're waiting until your kids are "easier," everyone loses a few pounds, your schedules calm down, or life finally slows down... can I lovingly tell you something?
That perfect time probably isn't coming.
As a Northern Utah and Southern Utah family photographer, I've photographed families in every stage imaginable. Toddlers who refused to wear shoes. Babies who cried the entire first 20 minutes. Teenagers who insisted they "hate pictures." Parents who apologized before we even started.
And do you know what happened?
Every single one of those sessions still produced beautiful, meaningful photographs.
Why?
Because family photos aren't about perfection—they're about connection.
I don't expect your children to stand perfectly still and smile at the camera for an hour. In fact, that's not even how I photograph. I create prompts instead of stiff poses. We'll walk, play games, cuddle, explore, laugh, and let your kids simply be kids. Those authentic interactions create images that feel alive instead of forced.
Whether we're chasing golden light in the mountains of Northern Utah, wandering through wildflowers in Utah County, exploring the red rock landscapes of Southern Utah, or watching the sunset in St. George, my goal is always the same:
To preserve what your family feels like—not just what everyone looked like.
Because someday, these photos won't be for Instagram.
They'll be for your children.
They'll be the photos they pull out years from now to remember how safe your hugs felt, how tiny their hands were, and how deeply they were loved.
And trust me...
They won't care that someone's hair was out of place.
❤️ They'll care that you were in the picture.
👇 Let's settle this in the comments...
What's the hardest part about getting your family ready for pictures?
😂 Picking outfits?🙈 Getting the kids to cooperate?⏰ Finding a date?🤷‍♀️ Convincing your husband?

Tell me below—I promise you're not the only one!
