Imagine opening your eyes to this breathtaking vista golden sunlight streaming across volcanic cliffs as waves crash against ancient lava rock below. This is Hawaii, where every sunrise feels like nature's personal invitation to witness something extraordinary.

Hawaii's dramatic beauty stems from its volcanic origins, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth.

You can see this view for yourself during our Women In Wildlife Photography Tours Hawaii: Four Island Wildlife & Landscape Tour.

Did you know? In the late 1800s, Great Egrets were nearly wiped out by hunters seeking their plumes (aigrettes) for fashion. The outcry over their slaughter led to the formation of early Audubon societies and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, allowing them to make a remarkable comeback. That is why the Great Egret is the official symbol of the National Audubon Society, representing the fight for bird protection and conservation.

Conservation photography is not made in a bubble. This man right here, my husband Derek Warner is who keeps things running, while I fly around there world spreading the message of hope for the natural world. I couldn't do what I do without his continued support each and every day. So today, on his birthday, I just want to say, thank you for all that you do.

Supporting the important work of conservation organizations such as is more important than ever. Doing so can be done in a number of ways, but sometimes it's fun to get dressed in your best to support the causes you care about. The Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas definitely knows how to support wildlife in style.

A fan favorite the Purple Gallinule is fairly common in Orlando Wetlands. The high concentration of purple gallinules at Orlando Wetlands Park is due to the area’s ideal habitat, featuring extensive freshwater marshes, lush vegetation, and floating plants like water lilies and hydrilla.

This week's Bird of the Week is the American Dipper. Unlike other birds that dive from the air, Dippers dive into turbulent water to walk along the bottom, using their wings to stay submerged while searching for insects, larvae, and small fish. They are North America's only truly aquatic songbird, specialized to live, hunt, and dive directly into fast-moving, freezing mountain streams.

I have been photographing this family for the past several years. This Florida Sandhill Crane pair have been having two colts every spring in the same location in Orlando Wetlands Park in Florida. We were delighted to get to photograph them during our Women In Wildlife Photography Tours Florida Nesting Birds Tour last week.

I am headed to Las Vegas to attend the Steve Irwin Gala, which is a fundraiser for the Australia Zoo. I have been wanting to attend this event for years, so I am so excited I have finally made this dream a reality. After Stephanie Arne and I decided to create a conservation storytellers workshop at Australia Zoo, I figured it was a no brainer to attend the gsla this year. More updates to come.
