Every woman who has come to me for a maternity session almost talked herself out of it.
Too tired. Too big. Too unsure if she was worth the fuss.

And every single one of them said the same thing when they saw their photos.
I am so glad I did not talk myself out of this.

There is a moment in every couples session when they forget I am there.

They stop thinking about the camera. They stop wondering how they look. And they just look at each other.

Really look.
The way they used to before life got loud. Before the kids and the schedules and the years of putting everything else first.

That is the moment I wait for.
And when it happens I take the photo. Not because it is perfect. Because it is real.

That is the one that ends up on the wall. That is the one they look at ten years from now.

Nobody tells you that one of the most intimate things you can do with your partner is slow down long enough to actually be seen together.

Not performing for a camera.

Just present. With each other. In a space where nothing else needs anything from you.

That is what a couples session actually is. And every couple who has done it says the same thing after: “We needed that more than we knew.”

She almost did not book.

She told me she did not think she could pull it off.
Too much. Too exposed. Too risky for a woman like her.

But she trusted me. Not just as her photographer. As her coach.

So we did the work before we ever touched a camera.
I coached her through every pose. Every expression. Every moment she wanted to shrink.

And something happened.
The woman who walked in apologizing for her body walked out owning it.

She said I have never done anything like this before.
I hear that every single week. And every single week the woman who says it walks out with something she cannot quite put into words.

Not just photos.
