Hey hey, I’m Katie! 🤍
What a month it’s been. I’ve met so many new people lately, photographed some incredible moments , and created a lot of content that I can’t wait to share. Since it’s June 1st and we’re rolling out our new branding, I thought I’d take a minute to reintroduce myself.
I’ve been a photographer for over 12 years and photographed my first wedding 11 years ago. Somewhere between that first wedding and now, I completely fell in love with documenting people and their stories.
Before photography became my full-time career, I actually planned on going into the medical field. I attended EMT school and studied nursing at Shorter University before ultimately deciding to take a chance on photography. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I’m a sucker for a good love story. I’ve read Pride and Prejudice more times than I can count, and if you ask me, the only acceptable adaptation is the 1995 BBC mini series. But on the flip side, I’m also a huge sci-fi geek, so my bookshelves are a little all over the place.
I was born in Chicago, spent part of my childhood in Ohio, and then spent most of my adolescence growing up right here in North Georgia. While Georgia is home, I spent a lot of my summers growing up traveling out west, which gave me a love for wide-open landscapes and adventure. To this day, New Mexico and Arizona are two of my favorite places in the country.
My husband and I will celebrate 7 years of marriage this year, and our little boy recently turned 2. Becoming a wife and mom has given me a whole new appreciation for photographs and the stories they tell.
At the heart of it all, I believe photographs should be more than something that lives on social media for a few weeks. They should become family heirlooms. The images your children and grandchildren pull out years from now to remember the people, relationships, and moments that mattered most.
Whether I’m photographing an intimate wedding in the North Georgia mountains or halfway across the country, my goal is always the same: to create timeless images that feel just as meaningful decades from now as they do today.
Whether you’re a past client, a future client, or you’re just following along, I’m so glad you’re here. I can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been working on.
Now tell me about you! I’d love to get to know some of the faces behind the accounts that follow along. ✨
