Want to know one of my favorite little surprises as a photographer?

Scrolling Facebook and seeing “People You May Know”… and it’s you, using your photo from our session.

I can’t even explain the smile that takes over my face in that moment. It’s this quiet, proud kind of joy. Like… wow, I got to capture that version of you, the one you chose to show the world.

Moments like that remind me why I love what I do so much. It’s never just photos. It’s connection, confidence, memories… and apparently, a lot of profile pics too.

After 8 years of photographing on the postpartum floor, I’ve developed a bit of a sixth sense for the best natural light… and exactly when it shows up.

This beautiful mama booked me ahead of time for a Fresh 48 session, and I gave her the full insider scoop. Because when it comes to hospital rooms, lighting can truly make or break the magic.

And listen… we all know that room. The one tucked into the building with two windows that somehow give NOTHING BUT BRICKS. The ultimate wildcard.

But luck (and maybe a little photographer intuition) was on our side. She got a gorgeous, light-filled room, and everything came together effortlessly.

The result? Timeless, glowing images of her sweet new family that feel every bit as special as the moment itself.

One year ago today, I took a chance on someone who had never even picked up a camera before… and wow, what a year it’s been!

Today I’m celebrating Cate Bell, an amazing photographer and an even better friend.

Fun little full-circle moment: Bell Grace Photography was named after my children’s middle names, and somehow the perfect person to grow with this business just happened to be a “Bell” too. I’ll never not think that was meant to be.

Over the past year, I’ve had the honor of training Cate to photograph our hospital newborns, and watching her grow into a photographer who captures these tiny moments with so much care and heart has made me so proud.

Somewhere along the way, she became so much more than just my employee she became someone I truly cherish.

So grateful for this past year and so excited for what’s ahead!

Senior sessions are in full swing, and this one hit a little different.

We went back to Franklin Square, right after I moved out of my studio, and it felt like the perfect send-off to a place that held so many memories.

And these photos? Absolutely stunning.

Lately I’ve been saying “yes” to stepping outside my comfort zone… and this one? SO worth it.

From sweet, emotional moments to full on dance floor energy and this day was everything! I loved it all!

Well… somehow we blinked and Bell Grace Photography has been at Med Center for TWO whole years.

Which honestly feels wild because I still remember the nerves, the “what am I doing??” moments, and probably way too much coffee. But here we are and it’s because of you. Every session booked, every share, every kind word… it all adds up more than you know. You’ve helped turn this little dream into something real, and I’m forever grateful (and slightly emotional about it).

So obviously we have to celebrate a little!!
