There are some events you hear about for years… and then there are the ones you finally get to experience for yourself.

Today was my first time photographing the National Silver Ball Tournament at Genesee Country Village & Museum, and I can honestly say it was so much fun! Watching baseball played the way it was in the 1860s—with vintage uniforms, wooden bats, and so much appreciation for the history of the game—made for such a unique experience.

As a sports photographer, I love capturing the heart and hustle of every game, and today was no exception. I’m already looking forward to coming back again tomorrow!

There’s just something about fall sports.

The Friday night lights. The crisp air. The excitement on the sidelines. The determination, the celebrations, and those moments families never want to forget.

Those moments are why I love what I do.

This past weekend, Spencerport held the Ciao Ragazzi Festival on Sunday and the community came together for the World Cup watch party.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was seeing people of all ages gathered together to watch the final game.

People were cheering for different teams, celebrating great plays, laughing together, and simply enjoying the game. It didn’t matter who you were rooting for everyone was there for the same reason: to share the experience.

As someone behind the lens at Sports Shots by Laura, these are the moments I love to capture. Sports are about so much more than the final score. They’re about the people, the emotions, the connections, and the memories that last long after the game is over.

Weekends like this are a reminder of how sports can bring an entire community together, and I feel lucky to have witnessed this moment. ❤️ Ciao Ragazzi
