Thank you to Katie Phillips Celaya & Lillan Rome for having me out for Cedar Haven Ranch 's Mountain Trail show this past Saturday! I had so much fun watching the riders & their horses work on real life trail skills.

I'm going to sound like a rusty hinge, but after discovering two instances of copyright infringement in less than 48 hours, I feel the need to be very clear about my stance on this.

Please do not use my photographs to advertise, sell, lease, or promote your horse or business without first purchasing the image or obtaining permission to use it.

Every photograph I create is protected by copyright. Taking images from my website or social media pages & using them for personal or commercial purposes without authorization is copyright infringement.

The screenshots attached to this post show my photographs being used without permission. These are not shared images, purchased images, or licensed images. They are copyrighted works that were taken & used without my written or verbal consent.

Moving forward, any unauthorized use of my photographs will result in a formal cease-and-desist notice, copyright claim & ,when necessary, further legal action to protect my intellectual property.

The horse community is small, & unauthorized use of photographs rarely goes unnoticed for long. If you can afford to own, maintain, show, lease, or sell a horse, you can afford to properly license the photographs used to promote that horse.

Please extend the same respect to photographers that you extend to trainers, farriers, veterinarians, show managers, & other professionals within the industry. Photography is not free simply because it is posted online.

Thank you to everyone who supports photographers by purchasing images and obtaining permission before using them. Your honesty, integrity, & support are appreciated more than you know.

A reminder from your friendly local photographer:

If an image still has my watermark on it, that means it has not been purchased or permission has not been given to use it. Posting, screenshotting, cropping, or using watermarked images without purchasing them is considered copyright infringement.

Please respect photographers, artists, & small business owners who put countless hours, money, travel, lodging, editing time, & heart into creating these images.

If I see my watermarked images being used without payment or permission, I will no longer photograph that individual in the future. The same applies if someone sends me proof that my work is being used improperly.

Supporting photographers means respecting the work, not just enjoying the final image.

Thank you to all of my wonderful clients who support my business the right way. It truly means everything to me.

If you do not see images of you & your horse, I am so sorry. I try so hard to get a good amount of every single rider at every show. If you want photos in the future, please reach out to be BEFORE the show, even before the first class/run with your name, back number & horse description. It really helps me get all of those extra shots of you!

How to choose images:

"Heart" all of your favorite images. It's okay if you heart all of them! Then, go back & choose your absolute favorites.
