A love note to my country & to my countrymen:

Happy 250th birthday, America!

I firmly believe in what our flag stands for, even in seasons when our nation feels divided. I believe in the freedom to choose the life we live, to pursue our dreams, to speak our minds, & to stand up for what we believe in. Those freedoms are precious, & they should never be taken for granted.

More than anything, I believe in unity. I long for the feeling so many of us shared after 9/11, when our flag became a symbol of compassion, resilience, & love for one another. We didn't all think the same things, but we stood together. I hope we can find our way back to that spirit.

On this milestone birthday, I hope we choose to see the best in one another. I hope we remember that we are stronger when we build bridges instead of walls. I hope we continue to cherish our breathtaking wild places, the incredible diversity of people & cultures that make up this nation, & the shared freedoms that unite us as Americans.

I will always love this flag, the men & women who have sacrificed so much beneath it, & the ideals it was meant to represent. While we may not always agree, I believe we all share the hope of leaving this country better than we found it.

Here's to 250 years of courage, perseverance, & freedom. May we move forward with more kindness, more understanding, & more love for one another. To the land of the free because of the brave. God bless America, & happy 250th birthday!

That wraps up the 2026 Millbrook Dressage Festival I & II weekend!

I am working hard to get your galleries out to each & every one of you. This is my second year doing show photography & I appreciate everyone's patience as I poured through the mass amounts of photos that come with a three day show & a photographer who always wants "just one more shot"!

I will be sending proof galleries through email or if I have your phone number, through there so you may receive them faster.

Congratulations are in order to Sydni Cook & Nikobar’s Florina, who laid down a beautiful Prix St. George's test with a score of 70.588% on day 1 of Millbrook Farms Summer Dressage Festival I & II! It has already been such a fun weekend watching so many talented horse & rider dance their way across centerline in the arena despite the crazy wind! Well done!

As we head into the remaining show days, I wanted to put out a quick reminder that there is still time to sign up as a PRIORITY RIDER if you would like heavy photo coverage for the rest of the weekend. PRIORITY RIDERS are my top priority while shooting, which means I make a point to capture extra images of your rides throughout the show.

For those of you who have already submitted your photo deposit, thank you. I am diligently working through proof galleries, and I will be sending your links out individually as soon as your gallery is ready.

If you have not submitted a deposit, but would still like to receive a proof gallery or become a PRIORITY RIDER for the remainder of the weekend, please send me a text (801-673-0831) & deposit so I know to prioritize capturing your rides before the show wraps up.

I have seen so many wonderful moments & so much improvement from riders I've been watching for year, it's easy to see you've all put in the work. And, there is still more to come!

I'm going to sound like a rusty hinge, but after discovering two instances of copyright infringement in less than 48 hours, I feel the need to be very clear about my stance on this.

Please do not use my photographs to advertise, sell, lease, or promote your horse or business without first purchasing the image or obtaining permission to use it.

Every photograph I create is protected by copyright. Taking images from my website or social media pages & using them for personal or commercial purposes without authorization is copyright infringement.

The screenshots attached to this post show my photographs being used without permission. These are not shared images, purchased images, or licensed images. They are copyrighted works that were taken & used without my written or verbal consent.

Moving forward, any unauthorized use of my photographs will result in a formal cease-and-desist notice, copyright claim & ,when necessary, further legal action to protect my intellectual property.

The horse community is small, & unauthorized use of photographs rarely goes unnoticed for long. If you can afford to own, maintain, show, lease, or sell a horse, you can afford to properly license the photographs used to promote that horse.

Please extend the same respect to photographers that you extend to trainers, farriers, veterinarians, show managers, & other professionals within the industry. Photography is not free simply because it is posted online.

Thank you to everyone who supports photographers by purchasing images and obtaining permission before using them. Your honesty, integrity, & support are appreciated more than you know.
