Most of you know me with a camera in my hand. What you may not know is that when I put it down, I usually trade it for a pink apron at the cutest little gelato shop that also has my whole heart.

So when one of my longtime RRP families became one of our faithful Honey’s families too, this session felt like more than a birthday shoot. It felt like two dreams meeting in the same room.

Happy 6th birthday to this sweet girl. 🍦

There is something sacred about being trusted with the milestones people will remember forever, then being welcomed into the ordinary days in between. To this family, and to every family I get to see from behind my camera and from behind the counter, thank you. You are part of more of my story than you probably know.

Hobie | Class of 2027

Golden light, salty air, bare feet, and a senior who made my job way too easy. Hobie’s session felt less like senior pictures and more like just following him around with my camera, and honestly, those are always my favorite kind.

The beautiful Miss Ava gave me WAY too much to work with, so brace yourself because I have absolutely no self control when it comes to narrowing it down for a sneak peek with a gallery this gorgeous!

We started downtown and ended at Tybee, and somehow every single part of this session felt completely different while still being so her. I’m so obsessed with this entire gallery already!

I almost didn't photograph Brayden. Stay with me. It’s a long (but good) one.

A few days before his session, his mom texted me some inspiration photos. I always love when seniors send those because it gives me a glimpse into who they are and the vision they have for their session. The only problem was... the inspiration looked nothing like my work.

I sat with it for a while before texting her back. I told her I wasn't sure I was the right photographer for him. I would've rather stepped away than handed him a gallery that reflected my vision instead of his. He only gets one senior year, and I owed it to him to be honest before he ever stepped in front of my camera.

She talked to Brayden, and to my surprise, he still wanted to move forward. So when I pulled up for the session, we talked. I told him this was outside of my comfort zone, asked him to tell me about his style and vision, and then asked him to trust me while I figured it out. We spent the evening chasing his vision instead of mine.

This gallery is the product of honesty, trust, and a willingness from both of us to let go of the original plan. Brayden trusted me with a vision that wasn't naturally mine, and I trusted him enough to chase it anyway. I couldn't be more grateful that he was willing to take that ride with me. I think we landed exactly where we were supposed to.
