Here are some of my favorite places in Virginia to photograph in the summer!
1. East Beach- This is a favorite every season and for good reason. I love the dunes, the water, the rocks, and the beautiful sunsets and sunrises! Kids love this beach because of the no waves. In fact if I ever tell my kids this is where I’m heading they ALWAYS try to convince me to bring them with. But just know if you come here with me, you are getting in that water!!!
2. The Virginia House- Once again a favorite in every season, but I just LOVE the greenery that you can photograph here during the summer. You can photograph here anytime during the day because there is so much shade to be found. This helps with little kids who you don’t want to keep up past bedtime but also just with combatting that Virginia heat.
3. Sweethaven Lavender Farm- This is a magical place friends. I love exploring the lavender and wildflower fields with my clients. It is absolutely breathtaking. Go in the daytime for the most delicious lavender treats!
4. In Your Home- You know I always have to put in my plug for in home photos. Kids are just so much more at ease when they are in their safest place. We can play, take our time, eat snacks, and even take a sink bath! Plus, did I mention the air-condition?
5. The Historic Post Office- I LOVE, LOVE photographing this location. The windows are out of this world.
6. Colonial Williamsburg- Again, another location that I go back to time and time again. I also love that you can photograph here most times of day and get spectacular photos. We will just wander and find our favorite spots together. It is always a great time.
7. Your Front Porch- Once again you get all the perks of an at home session… minus the air condition ;).
8. Sandbridge- Its a magical place. Just say the word and I am there!!! I love photographing families here.
9. Belle Isle- You have to be up for a walk, but it is worth it. The views are stunning.
