He returned to Reading, his hometown, and worked in several aspects of the photography industry – from developing film for lab to selling cameras. As a longtime Reading Eagle photojournalist, John earned numerous first-place statewide awards for his photos. He later worked as a photo editor for various publications before starting his successful business.

How do you photograph 400 youth athletes in under two hours? With this awesome staff! The busy fall season is in full swing and I can’t do it without this crew. They provide excellent customer service and quality under some very difficult situations…always with a smile. Thanks to all the youth sports leagues that trust Secoges Photographics year after year.

Photographed Reading Area Community College’s 51st Commencement Ceremony yesterday at Santander Arena. It was the 18th year I have had this honor and always look forward to the annual celebration. The graduates put in countless hours to better themselves and reach their goals. Congratulations RACC class of 2023!

The first thing you notice in John Secoges' photograph of an American goldfinch is its eye. With its head cocked slightly to the side, the bird peers directly at you.

Hello all! My son is a Life Scout with Troop 456 (I'm Scoutmaster) in Sinking Spring, PA and is fundraising for his Eagle Scout project (building an 8x12 garden shed for Opportunity House). If you are able, please consider a donation...every little bit will help him reach his goal of $3300.00 (he has already raised over $1400.00). Opportunity House is an amazing organization that “change lives by educating, housing, feeding and empowering people to stand on their own feet.” More details on how to donate in the comments. THANK YOU! https://www.facebook.com/OppHouseReading/posts/10158655403802367

I am so lucky to work with so many great companies, organizations and people! Here is a project I photographed over the summer with Berks Nature. They gave me the subject and "turned me loose", which I love because then I am only limited by my own creativity. If you have never been to Berks Nature, please stop by and walk around; it is a treasure for our area. https://berksnature.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/HealingInNature2020Proof2.pdf

Please consider giving to this great organization in honor of Veterans Day. This December my son's Scout Troop will once again lay wreaths at Indaintown Gap National Cemetery to honor all of those who have served our country. Thanks to ALL of our Veterans!

Wreaths Across America ("WAA") coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies every December to "Remember, Honor, and Teach" about the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. Please check out this page to learn how you can help by sponsoring Veterans Remembrance Wreaths or by joining us on Decembe...

Nominate an essential worker for a chance to win a family portrait session certificate!

In continuation of supporting essential workers and local small businesses, this week AVK is planning to award photo certificates (each gift certificate worth $150) to some of the outstanding essential workers who went above and beyond their regular duties to help others and community, as token of our appreciation.

https://www.facebook.com/kvsraju11gmail/posts/999785987148052

Please nominate someone who deserves this award(s). How it works:

•You nominate (1 nomination per person/family) an essential worker (Fire/Ambulance/Medical/Police/USPS/Banking/Grocery) who meets this criteria and lives/works in Berks county. Nominees can be your neighbor, friend, and colleague (can be your boss too). Please include a short description of their work/service.

Email: [email protected]

•AVK will review all nominations and short list based on the descriptions/details that you provide and number nomination a person gets.

•AVK will award them with Photo certificates from Secoges Photographics, LLC.

This is another way of appreciating our local essential workers and supporting a local business.
