Important Announcement: Running Water Powwow Rescheduled
The Running Water Powwow Committee would like to share an important update with our community. Due to unforeseen circumstances affecting our family, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the 2026 Running Water Powwow, originally planned for September 4–5.
Our powwow committee is made up largely of family members and close friends, and at this time, our collective family is navigating a deeply personal family emergency. Our attention and energy need to be with one another and with our loved ones in the days ahead.
We know that many dancers, singers, vendors, staff, families, and community members have been making plans to join us, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. We did not make this decision lightly, but we believe it is important to give our family the time and space needed right now so that, when we do gather, we can give the Running Water Powwow and our community the care and attention they deserve.
🪶 NEW DATES: OCTOBER 2–3, 2026
📍 200 Indian Drive, Fayetteville, NC
At this time, we ask for your patience and understanding as we work to transition our plans to the new dates. Additional information regarding the schedule, staff, vendors, dance specials, and other powwow details will be shared as plans are reconfirmed.
We also understand that this change may create an unexpected financial burden for those who have already made travel arrangements. If you are a visitor or vendor with hotel accommodations that cannot be canceled or refunded due to the date change, please reach out to the Running Water Powwow Committee. We are prepared to work with those affected to provide assistance or compensation for non-refundable hotel expenses. When reaching out to our team, please provide your receipt with date of purchase and a copy of the cancellation policy. We do not want members of our community to bear an unavoidable financial loss as a result of circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful for the community that surrounds Running Water. Your prayers, warm thoughts, kindness, and understanding for our family during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
Please help us spread the word by sharing this announcement, especially with anyone who may have been planning to travel to Fayetteville for the September dates.
We look forward to gathering together in the circle October 2–3. Until then, thank you for extending grace to our family and keeping us close in your thoughts and prayers.
With gratitude,
The Running Water Powwow Committee & Family
