A weekend full of beautiful sunrises and memorable moments on the water.

This past weekend, I volunteered at a Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing event, which brought together various chapters from Maryland and nearby regions. While mentoring these exceptional individuals was gratifying, photographing their enjoyment while fishing was even more rewarding. Nevertheless, the time spent listening to their stories and experiences far surpassed these moments. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Project Healing Waters at Ft Meade leadership team for inviting me to join the event.

Perhaps the second time I ever stop to photograph fungi. Why not? Every opportunity taken is a chance for experience gain. But there was something about this vibrant Laetiporus in contrast with the green woods that called my attention and drew me to take a few shots.

It was almost sunset and the woods were darkening fast. This forced me to be more deliberate with my settings and trust my camera’s ability to shoot at a higher ISO that I’m comfortable with.

Three hour drive to chase the regal Bald Eagles 🦅 at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge? Why not? 😆 last weekend was filled with lots of lessons to learn, but well worth it.
