We finally caught a break in the wet weather this week. Even with a little smoke still hanging in the air, it made for some incredibly dreamy conditions.

Short on time, we made the most of it - scouted some nearby ground, burned a little oil in the Chevy, and spent the evening with my wife. Even though she’s camera shy, I snuck one in of her laughing at one of my dumb jokes 🤫. I have to give her credit though, she absolutely nailed these shots of me.

It felt damn good to get back out with the camera again, even though I’d much rather be behind it than in front of it. If you’re a one-man operation, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Sometimes you’re the photographer, the driver, the model, and the editor all in the same afternoon.

This Memorial Day was for lack of better words memorable. For 28 years dad and I have hunt turkeys together. We had never doubled up on gobblers whether for misses or other reasons. After yesterday, we can no longer say that! What an awesome hunt! Hopefully the next one doesn’t take 28 years!
