Story time: I grew up in the South, and growing up my mom and grandma instilled a deep love of country music in me. For some reason, I was the only kid in elementary school who loved country music. So, when I moved from Florida to Texas as a 12 year old, one of the few things I looked forward to was finding other kids who also liked country music…only to find that still no one did! And now I know a ton of people who grew up to realize that country music is great and listen to it all the time, but a part of me will always remember how they scoffed at me for liking it! 😂
Anyway, I’ve been playing 2000’s country on repeat lately and it has been bringing me back to afternoons spent reading or coloring in my room back in 2004 while listening to my favorite local country station on my little green radio. ❤️
