So one thing that no one really told little/teenage Alyssa is that the older you get, the shorter the years become. That being said, it's Senior Pic Season AGAIN somehow and I swear I just photographed Trinity and now she's a high school graduate. Wild.

A personal space can reveal so much about who we are- from collectibles, favorite things, tidy spaces, and even clutter. A home or dwelling is part of all of our stories. A home and how we lived is worth remembering.

Brimming with antiques and handmade woodworking, this space radiated with calm energy to the point where I even said aloud "Thank you for sharing your space with me.". It was a treasure chest of memories and love.

Physics say that energy can never be destroyed, but transformed. Even after life on Earth, this barn will forever hold his energy.

These images were taken in 2013 which first of all, I'm absolutely flabbergasted that was 13 years ago. I was a mere four years into my photography career (to be honest I've never called it that but I suppose it has been exactly that- a career). I remember yearning to make art that was authentic, unposed, and timeless. But during the start of such career was an influx of 10 hour weddings every weekend and booking anything I could get my hands on. And 13 years later, the desire for such photography is just as strong.

Pictured is my grandmother who was 96 at the time this was taken. This is exactly as I remember her- always polished because just like me, she was a career hairdresser. She had lived decades without my grandpa and joined him in the afterlife at the age of 103.

Who You Were sessions are available for booking. These sessions will be complimentary, with a suggested donation to a cause that is important to you. Final images can be purchased individually from your gallery. Travel charge may apply.
