Every wedding reminds me why I fell in love with filmmaking in the first place. It's never just about documenting a day, it's about telling a story. The story of two people whose paths somehow crossed, whose lives became intertwined, and who chose one another. I always find myself thinking about how incredible it is that out of all the random chances in life, two souls found each other. That's what I hope you feel every time you press play on this film.
The days leading up to the wedding were already an adventure. We headed up to New York, staying in the sweetest little glamping spot with the most beautiful views before their celebration. It felt like the perfect way to begin a weekend centered around love.
When we arrived on the wedding morning, excitement filled every room. The girls were putting the finishing touches on hair and makeup while the bride was absolutely glowing with anticipation. One of my favorite moments was hearing her excitement over her wedding dress having pockets...which, as someone whose own wedding dress also had pockets, I completely understood! It's the little things. Watching the emotional first look with her dad and then sharing those joyful moments with her bridesmaids made the morning feel so special.
Meanwhile, over at the church, the guys were getting ready in what was an pre-K classroom of their church. The groom spent a few quiet moments reading before bursting into laughter after opening to one particular page of his book. Moments like that always become some of my favorites because they're so genuine. They remind me that weddings are filled with both deep emotion and lighthearted joy. Is it a fancy party? Absolutely. But it's also so much more than that.
Standing in their church, surrounded by their family and friends, everyone could feel just how much love filled the room. Even your pastor couldn't hide the emotion during the ceremony, and honestly, neither could us behind the cameras. They both looked so ready to begin this next chapter together. There was an excitement between them that was impossible to miss.
One of my favorite parts of the day happened immediately after they were pronounced husband and wife. Instead of rushing straight into portraits, they stepped away into a quiet room for a few moments together. Those first few minutes as newlyweds are something couples rarely get to experience privately. They got to simply sit together, breathe, smile, and soak it all in. It was such a beautiful reminder to pause and be present.
From there, we made our way to Bluebird Farm , and it couldn't have been a more perfect backdrop. The rolling fields, open skies, and breathtaking views created the dreamiest setting. We wandered through the fields together as they danced, chased one another, laughed, and simply enjoyed being together. The sounds of cocktail hour drifted through the air while the weather gave us one of those evenings you wish you could bottle up forever.
As the sun settled and the celebration continued, they were announced into the reception hand in hand, surrounded by the people who love they most. The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, celebration, and the beginning of so many new memories.
E + T, thank you for trusting us to preserve one of the most meaningful days of your lives. It has been such an honor to tell your story. My hope is that years from now, this film won't simply remind you what your wedding looked like, but exactly how it felt.
