I am a fine art photographer based in Dunbarton, New Hampshire. Since my retirement in 2020 from my 34-year managerial career, I have been enthusiastically pursuing the fine art of photography full-time. As a lifelong resident of New Hampshire, I have captured many images of New England and from around the world and plan to continue expanding my traveled path. Learning through trial and error, rea

ding books, studying with a mentor, and taking various photography and creative courses, has allowed me to grow and develop as both a photographer and an artist. Over the years, I have discovered capturing the best image that resonates within my soul is also the one that will resonate with the viewer’s soul. A unifying theme seen within my work involves the capturing of an image in its natural light whether it be from the sun shining above, a dark stormy day, or just one of those plain simple days. Even though most outdoor photographers will tell you that early morning or late evening light is the best time to shoot, I enjoy the challenge of shooting any time during the day or night. The last words I would like to share with anyone would be, “Stop, close your eyes, and take a deep breath; and, when you are ready to open your eyes, let a piece of art and what’s around you resonate with your soul.”

As this time begins to gently draw to a close…

there is a different way of seeing.

A little more noticing.
A little more feeling.
A quiet awareness that this moment—
like all moments—will not stay.

Floral Cadence remains on view through May 15. 🌿

Each week on Facebook, Sony Alpha Female has a specific photographic category and they offer a micro-grant with it . . . This week's subject was Portrait . . . And here is what I submitted.

Imperfect, Resilient, & Real . . .

Stepping in front of my owns lens felt far more vulnerable than standing behind it. As someone who is most at home capturing landscapes, wildlife, and fleeting moments beyond myself, this self-portrait was a quiet act of courage.

Taken beside the tree where I feed the birds, just before sunset, I found myself surrounded by familiar wings and unexpected joy. The birds fluttered in, surprised by my presence, as I stood still in a moment that felt both exposed and freeing.

My face carries its own story—subtle traces of surgery, recovery, time, and life itself. Imperfections that once may have felt defining now simply feel honest. Each feature reflects where I've been, what I've overcome, and the woman I continue to become.

This is me—imperfect, resilient, and real.
And in fully embracing that truth, I find my wings . . .

We don’t always take things with us—
but sometimes… they take hold.

A feeling.
A moment.
A quiet sense of connection.

If a piece from Floral Cadence has stayed with you,
you may already know which one it is.

✨ Trust that.

The first time you see something…
you notice what’s visible.

The second time…
you begin to feel what’s beneath it.

Each return to Floral Cadence reveals something new—
a softer edge,
a quieter layer,
a different rhythm.

Sometimes, one piece stays with you.

You don’t always know why—
only that it lingers a little longer than the rest.

A color…
a rhythm…
a quiet recognition of something familiar.

Floral Cadence is made of many moments—
but often, one becomes yours.

Sailing into Dover Soon . . .

I'm delighted to share that "Simply Complicated" has been selected for the 5th Annual Members' Exhibition by The award-winning The Art Center and New Hampshire Art Association . . .

Part of my "Sail on Sailor" series, this piece was crated in a single long exposure using intentional camera movement while both I and the sailboat (being photographed) were moving upon the water. I love that this image speaks to those moments when life feels layered and uncertain, yet something within still rises and lifts.

I look forward to sharing more details soon as it sails into Dover.
