Who’s coming out on our first extended whale watch trip this Friday with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises? I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am!! It’s been amazing out there so far this year. Many Whales and other wildlife and they’re doing lots of very cool stuff. I’ve been away and missing a lot of of it so I can’t wait to get back out there this week. The extended trip will be on Friday 6/19 at 8AM and I’ll be doing a photography workshop on the way out (no extra charge). But regardless of that if you can make it out there I highly recommend it as it should hopefully be a spectacular day. Please make sure you say hello to me if you come out. EDITED: I currently have an unexpected opening for the class that begins this Saturday 6/20. 7/11 class is full.

Hi everyone. Currently, I have limited openings for two Level One Photography Classes that begin in the near future. Both are nearly full. Option one begins this Saturday 6/20 with subsequent dates being  Sunday 6/21, Saturday 6/27, Sunday 6/28, and Sunday 7/5. Option two runs on Saturday 7/11, Sunday 7/12, Sunday 7/19, Saturday 7/25, Sunday 7/26. All sessions for both classes begin at 10am.

Anyone who might be interested in this experience based five session course set both in my studio in Plymouth, Ma. and at some beautiful local locations please send me a message here for more details. Among other things, this course will teach you how to use your camera in full Manual Mode as you get to know your camera’s different settings and buttons and what you can accomplish with them. If you are shooting on automatic and you don’t love the results this course is for you. We will also cover topics such as depth of field, proper photo composition, and more. Students will learn much valuable information and have fun while doing it. You will be all set up to take amazing photos with your camera after you complete this course.

A little visual story about the Birds and the Bees. This morning I heard a Painted Bunting in a beach parking lot and when I looked through my camera lens I saw this beautiful male perched on the top of a tree. As I was taking some photos, this Bumble Bee flew by him and he kept a very close eye during the flyby. I just love nature. 6/12/26 Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

I’ve spent parts of my last two mornings with these beautiful Black Skimmers on Wrightsville Beach. So amazing and so peaceful. Be sure to have your sound up for this one and listen to their calls. Many are sitting on eggs and I’m hoping to see a chick or two before we leave but only Mother Nature is in control of that. 6/10/26 N.C. Photos to come.

Painted Bunting, Arlie Gardens, Wilmington, N.C. 6/8/26. This is a bird I've wanted to lay my eyes and camera on for many years and never got the opportunity until yesterday. I was so excited to finally see this beauty! Just look at these colors. No words.

6/19, 7/15, and 9/13! I am so excited about the three Extended Whale Watch Trips scheduled for this season with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises. I'll be doing photography workshops on all three trips (centered around focusing the Sea Mammals) as we make our way out there. There will be other experts on board as well and I'm sure many photographers. This boat always has less people, travels further out if needed to see different wildlife, and is able to spend more time with the whales etc. when we do see them. It is a blast! Sign up on their website and I hope to see you out there. Friday June 19th at 8am, Wednesday July 15th at 2pm, and Sunday September 13th at 9am. Highly recommended.
