To close out Pride Month, I’d like to share a personal journey from the past year.
A year ago, I started taking gender affirming HRT (hormone replacement therapy). I am nonbinary and while I’ve never had strong gender dysphoria, I’ve always been curious about presenting more androgynous.
I’ve had a lot of fun exploring this new look and feel for my body over the last year and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
To celebrate this milestone and map my experience so far, I’ve been working on a video bit by bit throughout.
So, here is a reading of the poem “The Journey” by LGBTQ+ poet Mary Oliver, performed by myself throughout the course of one year taking HRT.
Thank you for joining me. Have fun, be q***r, go play with your performance of gender. We’re all little specks of dust in a vast universe, have fun with your time living.
And remember, Pride doesn’t end with Pride Month. ❤️🌈
