The other day, our littlest grandchild (who is about the happiest baby I"ve ever known!) had his hand resting in mine. I've watched enough kids grow up to know that someday, all too soon, this teeny little hand will be bigger than mine.
(Well.... maybe. I have big hands! π€£)
But someday, heβll be a grown man, maybe holding the hand of his own childβ¦ maybe even his own grandchild. It made think about time. Him being a grandson, it made me think about my own grandfathers, who are no longer here. Once upon a time, someone likely looked at their tiny hand and marveled at how small it was in theirs.
How many generations of tiny hands pass through families, each one held for just a little while before they grew? Countless.
Time is relentless, but also a blessing.
This is why I love photography, so much.
Because a photograph can hold onto the things we know weβre going to miss even while theyβre still happening. β€οΈ
