I heard something the other day that I just haven't been able to shake:
"You can't slow time, but you can make it count."
Re-read that.
Let it sink in.
WE. CAN'T. SLOW. TIME.
Some of y’all are probably thinking, “okay… that’s obvious.”
I know. I thought the same thing.
But the mindset shift that has happened in my heart over this statement has truly been life changing.
If you are anything like me, watching your children grow is one of the greatest joys that you will never take for granted, but it also is so anxiety inducing.
"Did we do enough today?"
"Did we make enough memories this summer?"
"Oh my gosh another birthday, did I actually take the last one in?"
Before I know it, all of these anxious thoughts have me spiraling, breathing rapidly, and questioning if I am missing their childhood completely.
To hear you CAN'T... but then see that I CAN gave me oxygen again in those anxiety moments.
I can't stop time.
But I CAN make it count.
And that changes everything.
Because my babies will grow up…
And if the past few years are any indication, their senior year will be here in the blink of an eye.
So my goal?
Just to make it count.
So grateful for A, her mom, and her grandmother for letting me be part of one of their “make it count” moments.
