Just thought I would give everyone an update since I haven’t been able to post much lately.

I’m still dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck, which has also caused an ulnar nerve entrapment. It has resulted in quite a bit of pain in my shoulder, elbow, and hand. I’ve lost feeling in a few of my fingers, while the others have constant tingling and weakness.

For now, I’m trying to do as little as possible so I don’t cause any additional damage. I’m seeing several doctors and currently going through physical therapy. It has been over three weeks now, so I’m really hoping that I’ll start seeing some significant improvement and be on the road to a full recovery soon.

Even typing on a keyboard can be painful, so I’ll only be posting when I’m able to. Thank you all for following along and for your patience. I really appreciate it, and I hope to be back to sharing wildlife and photography with you all soon!

I'm still dealing with the pinched nerve, but today I can finally use a keyboard with only a little pain.

This is a video I captured about a month ago. Every time I watch it, it reminds me of the classic *Lady and the Tramp* spaghetti scene. I hope it brings a smile to your day as much as it does mine!

A pinched nerve in my neck has left my left arm pretty sore and mostly useless for now, so I'll be taking a break from hiking and carrying my big wildlife lens while it heals.

Instead of chasing wildlife this weekend, my wife and I took three of our granddaughters on a train ride to Fort Worth, then headed over to the The Dallas World Aquarium. I traded my camera for my phone and still managed to capture a few memories. Sometimes it's nice to slow down, enjoy the time with family, and remember that the moments matter just as much as the gear.

Happy World Snake Day!

Snakes are some of the most misunderstood animals in the wild, yet they play a vital role in keeping nature in balance. They help control rodent populations and are an important part of healthy ecosystems.

Most snakes want nothing to do with people and would rather slip away than stand their ground. If you're lucky enough to see one, give it some space, enjoy the moment, and let it continue on its way.

Whether it's a rough greensnake blending into the branches or a western ratsnake soaking up the morning sun, every snake has an important job to do.

One of the reasons I enjoy macro photography so much is the chance to photograph jumping spiders. Up close, they seem to have so much personality. Their curious expressions and oversized eyes make them some of my favorite tiny subjects to photograph.

Nice to find I have several Carolina mantids out on patrol in the Maximilian sunflowers. They are only a little over an inch long right now. Some of my sunflowers are confused and already blooming. That is over a month too early I believe.

This is a pitcher's leatherflower. Love seeing this flower when out hiking. Found my first one out at Oxley Nature Center a couple of years ago. I am sure they have always been there just started noticing them.
