Help us congratulate John and Donna Tibbets of Tibbets Arena, our Oklahoma Barrel Races Producers of the Week! 🤎
John and Donna have spent most of their lives around horses and rodeos. From high school through college, some of their favorite memories were made in an arena. And while they’ve always loved the sport, it’s the people they’ve met along the way who have made those memories so special. They hinted that there might be a few good secrets in there, too! 😉
The two married in 2020 and called Comanche home before moving to Pauls Valley. Once they got settled, they felt led by the Lord to turn some of their land into an arena where friends, old and new, could come ride and enjoy it with them. That’s how Tibbets Arena began.
Taking on the producer side was something new for both of them. They’ve been learning as they go, enjoying the experience, and welcoming feedback from the people who come through their gate. We appreciate the heart behind wanting to make things better for the riders and horses who show up.
These days, you’ll mostly find Donna keeping the paperwork handled and things organized on the ground, while John still climbs in the saddle and competes. His love for the arena includes barrel racing, tie-down, and breakaway. Some of his favorite days are spent working with a young horse or helping someone learn more about the sport.
They shared that they hold Thursday exhibitions and jackpots every other Saturday, and they’re enjoying hosting their very first buckle series! Watching the horses and riders compete has already made them excited to host the next one.
What we love about their story is how much it comes back to people. They wanted a place to share with others, and their invitation is simple: stop by, say hello, and bring a horse or two.
John and Donna, thank you for sharing your story and giving our community a place to ride, learn, compete, and make memories. Congratulations on being our Producers of the Week! 🩷
