I thought it would be a smart idea to have a sugary cliff bar after Erin + Mike's wedding tonight soooo since I definitely won't be sleeping for awhile, I decided to download an app on my phone, connect my camera, and make a few simple b+w edits. Today was the best day. How does any photographer ever just go to sleep ANYWAY after hyper-witnessing so many beautiful moments? Sheeeesh. 🥰🤍

Catching up with the Levine family on Mother's Day featuring their newest addition: Bennett 💙 How special this day was, having 3 generations all in one place from both mom and dad's sides.

Spring portraits have officially kicked off, bringing friendly new faces, and exciting reunions with longtime familiars. May has always been a whirl of portraits and chasing blooms; each year without fail, the end of this month rarely ever fully concludes before I already miss it. The landscape is like a painting no matter the weather, or which direction you look.

I was taking out the trash tonight and the ghostly violets peppering the front lawn whispered to me to dust off my camera and take their picture, so I did and it made me feel something again. I can't remember the last time I went this long without feeling inspired. When my soul-cat of 18 years passed one month ago today, I knew it was going to be different to be at the computer without him in my lap. I believe in transcendent connections, and do think it was a nudge that he wanted to sit at the computer with me again. I love believing in him this way, he was my mirror afterall. I want me to keep loving taking pictures, mostly because life is so short for us all and it's all so beautiful even when it's fricken hard. I love taking in these moments. I love when they just happen. I have so much to be thankful for, starting with these luminescent blooms. 🤍

Continuing the baby streak: One of my favorite things recently was when I got to meet baby Toryn for his session, and the whole family was there right alongside him. It's not often where other family members are there for newborn sessions but they're always so special. There ain't nothing like seeing these new grandparents radiating joy, even as grandpa was getting spit-up on. (Pics not shown here but you betcha they're in the gallery!)

This winter has been such an energizing season. If you haven't heard by now, we're officially in the year of the Fire Horse 🔥🐎 which, so they say, means babies born during this time are fixin' to be some fearless, passionate + creative individuals. I believe it and I love it.

Shae girl has entered the chat. 🩷

Time spent with this fam is always so fun and easygoing, it was so special to meet the new girl in town and see her surrounded by so much love. This was just about a month ago, so I imagine she's already eating pink frosted donuts, getting silly, and leaping off her nursery windowsill with her brothers by now. 🍩

Today's baby post is brought to you by yet another snowday, reggae oldies, and a lady who prob put too much maple syrup in her oatmeal... not feeling all too different from these kids now that I think about it. 🙂‍↔️

I'm stunned to look at the calendar today and see we're approaching the end of February so soon! The winter months have always carried a predictable hibernation phase for me- slow, quiet, and reflective. I put the camera down and use my hands instead to paint and craft. The last 2 months however have enlightened me and kept a camera in my hands celebrating a wonderful and totally unexpected winter baby-boom. In this, I can't help but notice such a life chapter goes perfectly in hand with the energy of late-winter.

We forget that it's in December where the sunlight actually begins to return and the days grow longer. ☀️

Out the windows of Vinny's January session, the landscape rested under freshly fallen snow. Everything was drenched in golden sun. I remember pulling into the Catania family's driveway this day and thinking how beautiful and alive everything felt. It was MLK day, and I saw kids home from school playing in the winter sun the whole drive. Just like a new family takes their time to rest, and get their bearings, there is a whole world just as much on its way to bloom with color, vibrations, mudpies, and surprise.
