Happened to be at the right place at the time to capture the last blade being attached to the hub of T28. This is number 6 of 51 GE 6.1-158 turbines on the Coles Wind project that is fully assembled.

Living within the project footprint gives me more opportunities to capture parts of the construction process. If there is something you want me to show more of, leave a comment or message me.

Crane is being disassembled to move from one site to the next because it's crossing a road. Also note the miles of underground cables that are being trenched in.

Here's a time lapse of the blades being installed on T29.

This is the fourth turbine completed with quite a few more towers started. With 3 of the largest cranes on the project, progress is happening very quickly.

T3 has been assembled including hub and blades. Pictures don't do justice to how tall it is. The large crane has moved to T1 location. It appears that there are at least 2 other cranes that are similar size on the project.

T3 tower is completed and nacelle is in place. Also note the blades have been assembled. A lot of collection lines are being trenched in as well. There are 5 towers started already and progress is happening very quickly.

Construction continues on the towers. There are 4 already started with the tallest at 190' currently. The O&M facilities location has been cleared of crops. Many swathes have been cut in the fields in preparation for the collection lines and crane movement. The equipment used to hoist the blades into place is at the T3 location.

First tower pieces for the Coles Wind Farm have been erected. This is the T2 location off of 1900N west of highway 130 at the northern edge of Coles Co. The tower is about 95' tall at its current state. The hub height will be 384'.
