Key West is such a magical place. It’s why more than half of my elopements every year are in that little slice of paradise.

But the one thing I do every year before setting my availability for Key West is Google festival dates.

I want to ensure my couples have the best weather and the least amount of people around so they’ll have a great elopement experience. This means avoiding festival weekends.

&&& I HIGHLYYY recommend you do this as well. Festivals and holiday weekends bring big price travel tags and crowds to the island. If you want to avoid both, pick a date that doesn’t fall in with a celebration.

Google when these are happening these first:

👉🏻 Singer Songwriter Festival (early May)
👉🏻 Lobster Fest (late July)
👉🏻 The first week of lobster season (including mini season) (late July/early August)
👉🏻 Fantasy Fest (October)
👉🏻 Speed Boat Races (early November)

Of course, there are always seasons that generally bring higher prices and more people (like snow bird season and spring break).

And hey, maybe the festival IS part of your elopement! But it’s better to be prepared before setting that date and wonder why a motel is suddenly $1800 for two nights 😅

Save this post for later when you’re getting ready to plan your Key West elopement!

We consider high effort high value ’round here 💁‍♀️

When it came to creating a client experience, I wanted it rooted in one thing…putting the couple first and giving them a good time. I was sickkk of lackluster experiences and it seems these days that more and more businesses are finding ways to cut corners in the name of a profit.

NOT I, friend

I’m here to bring the 5-star energy into my client experience so that my couples leave happy and satisfied.

That’s why all these things are intertwined in my experience:

1. AI? Don’t know her. AI is the bane of human existence, quickly killing our environment, and negatively impacting local communities. That’s why you won’t find me using it in any part of my client experience. All culling, editing, writing, communicating, creating, etc, etc. is done by yours truly.

2. Resources on resources. By providing my clients with checklists, guides, recommendations, and other planning resources, I find that they love the planning more than they expected by giving them everything they need upfront so there is no second guessing or wondering what’s next in their elopement journey.

3. Totally customized guides for each couple. I get some heat for this because it’s a TON of work to individualize guides, but I find it necessary for the planning vibes. Customized guides are your one-stop-shop for all of your elopement planning needs and organization. It’s a Type A’s dream and a Type B’s life line.

4. Behind the scenes videos of your day included. You have the photos to bring you back to the feels, but there’s something so special about little clips taken throughout the day to look back on. It’s especially great if you want to be completely unplugged for your day.

5. All day timeline planning! Most photogs will offer some sort of timeline planning, but I take it a step further and plan out your entire day (not just the time I’m there) to relieve the stress of figuring out when vendors or guests should be places.

6. First round’s on me. Do I need to? No, but there’s something so exciting about getting that first bevvy for free and I want to be the person that brings the party!

Tyler and Kristen’s day included SO many fun adventures, but was mainly focused on getting married just the two of them on a private catamaran! They were inspired by another catamaran elopement I had captured a few years ago and had their heart set on getting married on the water.

When it came to planning their elopement, the day’s vibe was chill. They described their vision as “we just want the day as chill as possible. Honestly, we want it to feel like any other day. We want to have fun in our little way without the pressure of putting on a show. We have a calm quiet little life in Arizona and I want it to be an extension of that.”

So we combined the catamaran with some fun date night stops to create just that.

If you want to see how it all came together, I’ve got this one posted on the blog!

Wow, there’s SO many incredible elopements I need to share from the first half of the year! It’s actually insane how time flies now in motherhood. Where has the last nine weeks gone?!

First up in the incredible 2026 line up: Sasha and Doug’s West Martello Tower elopement!

This Key West elopement was anything but ordinary. The vibe was easy going, exciting, and playful with stops at all the best places around the island. From the gardens of the towers, cocktail bars off the strip, pizza on the sidewalk, sunset at Mallory Square, and dive bars along Duval. This elopement had everything that made Key West Key West. This day reflected who Sasha and Doug are as the couple that makes anything and everything into an adventure.

Who said Key West is only for sunsets?!

D+R eloped in the early morning hours and had an entire adventure afterwards! Starting before sunrise, these two got ready together in their boutique hotel before heading to the beach where they exchanged vows. Also, funny story…there was a passed out college kid by their front door who most definitely did the Duval Bar Crawl the night before 😂

To celebrate the day, they visited the Key West butterfly garden (a must see for any first time visitors to the island!!), grabbed coffee at Koffie House, explored Duval, and had celebratory cocktails at the infamous Sloppy Joe’s (my personal favorite for people watching 😂).

It was truly a gorge day and I can’t wait to share more 😍😍

All I can see is how cute it would be for a couple to take a photo under the “Juice the Joy” sign with their first round of b**rs marriedddd 😍

This was my first time visiting Hogan Yards (Hogan Yards) in Vero Beach and it was so fun! 🍊 We didn’t get a chance to play any games, but we did get lunch and some bevvies and I’ve decided this is being added to my list of recs!

This hang out has local craft b**r from Orcid Island Brewing (Orchid Island Brewery), Texas-style bbq from Pepper & Salt (Pepper and Salt BBQ), and tons of games! From pickle ball courts to corn hole to an indoor arcade, there’s quite literally something for everyone any time of year!

My favorite part about this place was the overall aesthetic of old Florida orange groves paired with the comfortably of home. You could easily come here to hang for a while.

Everything about this place made it a perfect stop for a Vero Beach elopement. Even if it’s the two of you or you’re wanting to meet up here with your family afterwards (psst…you can even rent part of the space for a more intimate feel), you have everything you could need for a good time.
