Divorced parents on a wedding day…

This is honestly one of the questions I get the most. It doesn’t have to be stressful, you just need to plan for it. No need to have any awkward situations if we are able to prep for it.

Hope this helps someone who might be stressing over this specific part of their day. Family portraits are one of the most important parts of a wedding day but we also want to make it stress free!

Angela.

These bridal portraits from her wedding day took my breath away. She was an absolute vision.

Portraits like these happen when you give your timeline room to breathe. Having nowhere to rush off to and the space to simply be present on your wedding day is so incredibly special. I see the difference in how a wedding day feels for my couples when they have a relaxed timeline.

This is why I’m such a believer in building breathing room into a wedding timeline. The best portraits aren’t always the ones you squeeze into a 10 minute window. Sometimes, they happen when you have the time to slow down, wander, take it all in, and let the moment unfold naturally.

Having that said, Angela was THE moment! Stunning.

Having SO much fun with reception photos lately 🪩🍸✨

The chaos, the dancing, the drinks… I’m here for it all! feel like the reception is when I really get to see everyone’s personalities shine and let loose.

The formalities of the day are done, so I also get to relax and just vibe with my couple and I find myself enjoying it more and more recently!

Can’t wait for next one!

Four weeks 🤍

That’s how long Eliana and John had to plan their wedding day, and honestly, you would never know it.

With just 30 of their closest friends and family, wildflowers tucked throughout the day, vineyard views, and a candlelit dinner, their wedding at Altisima Winery was intimate in all the best ways.

No huge production. No packed guest list. Just two people getting married surrounded by the people they love most. I think that’s what I loved most about their day. It felt relaxed, intentional, and completely them.

Eliana + John, what a beautiful day to be a part of!

The seven circles. 🤍

One of my favorite moments during a Jewish wedding ceremony. Under the chuppah, the bride traditionally circles the groom seven times.

There’s so much meaning behind it. The number seven is connected to creation and completeness, and the circling is also said to create a protective, sacred space around the couple as they begin their life together.

I was just telling my husband a few days ago how I love watching the difference in traditions. I love when wedding traditions have this much meaning behind them. What may look like a simple moment is actually such a beautiful part of the ceremony and the beginning of their marriage.

Seven circles. One new beginning. ✨

P.S. Yes, I’m posting twice today. I was looking through this gallery and was touched by this moment.

35mm Film + Tiramisu 🇮🇹🎞️🤍

I gasped when I got back my film scans from Larissa and Théo’s wedding day because I knew Larissa was going to LOVE them and I was so excited for her.

We shot 5 rolls of 35mm film for their big day and I’m obsessed with every frame!

Here’s the thing about weddings… there is so much to capture. Beautiful details, elegant portraits, epic drone shots that capture the ceremony site, the first kiss, bride and groom portraits, you name it.

The moments that matter most however? The REAL ones.

It’s what I find myself gravitating towards on wedding days because time and time again, those end up being the ones that my couples love the most. Do they still want their stunning details captured and beautiful portraits that are styled? Yes. But I often get a text after I deliver their gallery that says they loved being able to see the moments they had no idea even happened 🤍.

Obsessed with my job is an understatement. What a gift to capture once in a lifetime moments for my couples!

Having all that said, how cute is this!?! 🥹

Weddings on film are just 😍🤏🏼…

It’s the instant nostalgia for me.

Always so fun to get film scans back! I still catch myself looking down at my film camera after I take a picture to see what it looks like 😂… just to have to wait for a 1-2 weeks to actually see what it turned out like.

Loved what we got from Larissa and Théo’s wedding day. Delivered over 150 film images for them!

Larissa & Théo 🤍

The blue, the green, the coastal vibes, the details… and then there’s the fact that these two are just SO much fun to photograph!

Their ceremony was extra special. They exchanged vows underneath the big tree at The Pavilion at Calamigos Ranch, surrounded by all that beautiful greenery. It was such a beautiful setting and felt intimate and meaningful in the best way.

They brought the best energy all day long and it definitely carried straight into the reception. Which, by the way, deserves its own post because the reception energy was EVERYTHING. 😂🪩

Larissa LOVES shooting film and I got to steal her Contax G2 during the reception and shoot some 35mm of my own throughout the day. I can’t wait to share their film scans when I have those back!

More from this day coming soon because apparently I’m incapable of narrowing down a wedding gallery. 😂

They’re featured on the blog today!

A full circle kind of wedding day 🤍

Alyssa and Colin got married at Westlake Village Inn, the very place where they first met. So special! It’s rare when couples are able to get married in the location where they met.

Their day happened right in the middle of a Southern California heat wave, but you honestly never would have known. There was so much excitement, so much love, and SO much dancing.

And then there was Alyssa’s second look… The bows. The dress. The whole thing. I was GAGGED!

I loved getting to document this day for these two and all of the little moments in between. From the happy tears during the ceremony to the packed dance floor, it was such a good one.

Alyssa & Colin, thank you for letting me be part of such a special chapter in your lives!

Full wedding day is now on the blog!
