Why do you wear your wedding rings on the left ring finger? 🤔
💍 The tradition of wearing wedding rings on the left hand ring finger is thought to have originated in ancient Rome, Greece, and Egypt. At the time, people believed that the fourth finger on the left hand had a vein which directly connected to the heart. ❤️ This vein was given the name Vena Amoris, which literally translates to “vein of love.”
The heart was considered the center of emotions, so wearing a ring on this finger was thought to symbolize eternal love. 😍
While the existence of the Vena Amoris has been disproven, the tradition continues in many Western cultures, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and across Europe.
