Never stop growing, never stop learning. This is my first ever full session on nothing but 35mm film 🎞️

I know I’m my own worst critic, so I look at these and know what I need to change and do different next time… but at the same time I’m pretty dang proud with how these turned out.

Diving all in on this new adventure + leaning in and learning everything I can!

Grateful is an understatement for clients like the Faires family!!

The day of their session it started POURING rain the minute they got to the beach to meet me. We had been watching weather all day and making calls based on the radar, but sometimes even that isn’t enough and Mother Nature had her own plans. We moved forward under some shelter, endured some toddlers tantrums, and still ended up with some great pictures, but it wasn’t what I wanted for them and our time together.

I basically forced Katie to let me come meet them at their condo a couple of days later so we could get some sunshine and hope for a better toddler-led evening… and spoiler alert: it. was. GORGEOUS that night. Praise Jesus for sunshine!!

I can’t control the weather… but I can guarantee that I care more than you could ever imagine about making sure my clients have a good overall experience and that I’ll do my very best to give you a gallery filled with wonderful memories 🤍 all I ask from you, as a client, is flexibility and understanding.

A little kindness goes a long way.

We’re growing!!! For the first time EVER, I’ve been able to hire another photographer (full time!) to take sessions under the Scottie Mae brand.

Katelynn has been working with me for a little over a year, learning how I like to do things and helping me out with family sessions and various projects. She’s seen the ins and outs of my business, my editing process, been with me out on the beach working with lots of you and even taken on a few clients under the SMP name when life has gotten in the way for me to be there. She’s so incredibly talented (I mean seriously, just look at the beautiful photos in this post!) and I’m so excited to offer her talents as a part of my TEAM 🤩

Hiring on someone has been a long time dream that I never thought I would be able to do because I didn’t trust anyone to come in and treat my business and clients with the same respect as I do. Being able to have Katelynn as a part of SMP is going to open up more time for me to be a mom and a wife, but also allow us to serve more of you 100% in a beach season.

Katelynn’s calendar is now live and sessions with her are discounted through the end of the year!

My heart has never ached the way it does right now. Millie was so much more than just a dog… she was my very best friend, my rock and my constant through the best and the worst years of my life. She was so loyal and loved me unconditionally every day of her life. She knew when I was upset and would come to comfort me. She laid by the front door every time I left the house and waited there for me to come back… even if other people were home. She cuddled me when I was sick and pregnant and was my pillow to cry into when life felt too heavy to carry. She loved my kids and protected them always. She always loved traveling with us and there wasn’t a food she wouldn’t eat. I don’t know how to live a life without her. She was my first baby, my biggest comfort.

13 years will never be enough time. I’m just believing she was met at the golden gates by my daddy and they’ll both be there waiting for me when I get there.

I love you forever Smidgey.
