I disappeared for a little while.

Life got heavy in the way it sometimes does. Some kidney stone complications turned into surgery. Recovery forced me to slow down, and somewhere in the middle of all of that I had to relearn something I constantly tell other people:

rest is not failure.

And now somehow summer is here.

The evenings are stretching longer, Oklahoma is glowing gold again, and I’m finding my way back behind the camera feeling excited, inspired, and honestly… more intentional than before.

So this summer I don’t want to chase perfection.
I don’t want overly posed moments or pressure to “look right.”

I want to photograph:
the tenderness.
the becoming.
the laughter that sneaks out in between poses.
the way your child reaches for your hand.
the way your partner looks at you when you aren’t paying attention.
the version of you that still deserves to exist in photos even if life has been messy lately.

This season feels especially sacred to me, so I’m offering $100 off all outdoor golden hour sessions this summer.

Regularly $350
Summer Golden Hour Sessions: $250

This can be used for:
• couples
• families
• motherhood
• portraits
• q***r love stories
• storytelling sessions
• “just because we deserve to remember this” sessions

I’ll also be opening up more emotionally driven model calls this summer for stories centered around identity, transformation, healing, connection, grief, softness, and becoming.

The truth is:
I’m not interested in creating perfect images.

I’m interested in creating photographs that feel like proof you were fully here.

If this feels like your season to be seen a little more gently, a little more radiant, or a just a little more true... the door is open. ✨

-Chronicles of a Pr***en-

There’s a beautiful, bittersweet ache in watching your child grow—when you look up and realize the baby is gone, but the young woman hasn’t quite arrived. This is that in between space.

My girl is seven. She’s twirling in a $4 Goodwill dress she begged for (PSA: thrift stores are a secret weapon for session outfits!) and insisting on “makeup.” We compromised on tinted lip gloss.

She wanted every curl defined, but demanded her bangs stay wild and free. I looked through my lens and saw it. There it was. She’s not a little girl anymore, but she’s not yet a teen. She’s in the glorious, messy, glitter-and-grace middle between.

We chased golden hour light and silly prompts, and I snapped away, knowing these will be some of the last photos where “little girl” will be the first descriptor.

The days are slow, but the years??? They’re a blur. I know I’ll want to remember the exact curve of her snaggle toothed smile, the way she still lets me hold her hand on the walk back to the car, and the fierce independence in her eyes when she tells me, “I can do it, Mama.”

This is it. This is what I do. Not just for others, but for me too. For us. To freeze the “right now” before it becomes “remember when.”

So here’s to the in between kids. The ones growing up right under our noses. The ones who are both soft and strong. Let’s capture them exactly as they are, right now, in between.

Swipe to see my heart walking around outside my body ➡️

P.S. That $4 dress? Proof that magic doesn’t have to be expensive. If you’re dreaming of a session but feel stuck on “what to wear,” let’s chat. Some of the most stunning pieces are waiting on a thrift store rack, just like this one was.

Happy Saturday, Friends!

Quick question:
What's one thing you're doing for YOURSELF this weekend?
I’m binging Love Is Blind Italy before tackling a mountain of dishes and then heading to tonight’s hockey game!

What about you? A walk? A book? Absolutely nothing?

Imagine a space where the only item on your to do list is to breathe. Where the only person you need to take care of is you.

What if your photoshoot was less about the camera, and more about claiming that room to breathe for an hour?

Just a thought for your Friday.

Lets be real, I'm just like the rest of you. Sam's club runs, host family logistics, business tasks, and life all right smack dab in the middle of the holiday AND hockey season.… I see you. In the beautiful chaos, I see you.

This week, my necessary pause was 10 minutes of Candy Crush, consciously ignoring the laundry basket. It was a tiny reclaiming of my own brain.

I share this as a mom in the trenches, as a neurodivergent coach who champions productive rest, and as a photographer who is committed to sessions that don’t feel like high pressure performances. We create space for the real smiles that come after a deep breath or a silly moment. Your authentic presence is the perfect filter.
What tiny pause did you claim for yourself this week?

"The guilt was so loud. 'It's too much money.' 'It's selfish.' 'I should be doing x, y, z for everyone else.'
I booked anyway. And that hour for myself changed how I carried myself for months after. It was a reminder that I am worth investing in, too." - A.

Curious about what that 'hour for yourself' looks like? That's the magic we explore in my private group. P.O.E. Bo***ir Collective

POV: Your photographer is also a coach for women who cares more about your vibe than your smile.
We’re not for everyone… and that’s the point.
