I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14

We can read something many times yet not understand the depth of what is being said.
Here David is proclaiming to God, how well He knows every aspect of him. And that there is nowhere David can go that God isn't with him.
Verse 14 is a most highly quoted scripture. As I was talking with God about my tendency to overthink….this verse came to me. I thought what do the words ‘fearfully’ and ‘wonderfully’ mean in their original language. Because sometimes there is a nugget within the translation that expands knowledge or brings new revelation or does both simultaneously.
I was today years when I learned while looking up ‘fearfully’ in the Hebrew (yare’) that the word ‘august’ is not just a month. It is also an adjective that means dignified, majestic, or inspiring reverence. Yare’ (fearfully) also means stupendous, admirable, or in a wonderful manner.
‘Wonderfully’ is pala in the Hebrew…and it means to make separate/set apart, to distinguish, or make distinction. When our kids say they are “built different” they absolutely are. Because God, our Abba, saw to it that He formed us each distinctly in a wonderful manner.

I was asked if the Halloween party for my son's class was called a "Fall Party" could he attend? No need, he won't be in attendance.
Changing the name of a thing does not change what it is or what is being celebrated.
If I "borrow something without permission" I am still stealing.
Folks will say, "It ain't that deep." But I have seen too testimonies of people who used to be in the occult....testify to the very opposite. They explain these folks start early cursing candy, costumes, and neighborhoods.
Yes, a curse causeless cannot alight.
YET....if you are dressing up, handing out candy, participating in these activities glorifying darkness - it is the very opening the enemy needs. ALL he needs is a foothold that leads to a stronghold.
People are making their homes an altar with decorations glorifying death and darkness. Opening you and the kids to a spirit of fear. Which is not the spirit God has given us.
Please know every altar requires a sacrifice and if you or the children go empty handed to that altar.....you/they are the sacrifice.

Praise to God for His Faithfulness and Justice

Praise the LORD! I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.
The works of the LORD are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them.
His work is honorable and glorious, And His righteousness endures forever.
He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
He has given food to those who fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.
He has declared to His people the power of His works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.
The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His precepts are sure.
They stand fast forever and ever, And are done in truth and uprightness.
He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

Prodigal

The meaning of words is important and can help us to better understand what we hear or read.

Today I looked up the definition of prodigal, because all along I assumed its meaning based on the parable in Luke 15 regarding the prodigal son.

The definition is wastefully extravagant, reckless, OR to lavish with money, time, or resources.

With that understanding, this word is twofold in that parable. Yes, the son was wasteful and reckless with the inheritance he demanded early.

Yet, the father was the OR part of the definition. Upon the son's return, he says to his servant "Get him the BEST robe, a ring for his finger, sandals for his feet, kill the fattened calf, let's feast and celebrate! For my son was dead but is alive again, he was lost but is found." (Paraphrase)

This is God.
This is our Father in heaven.
This is Abba.

When we come to the end of ourselves, we can return to Him.

He is standing watch. Looking far off for those who are lost. He is in eager expectation of their return, so He can lavish is blessings upon them.

The precept of verse 28 took me to Acts 11:26 where I went to the study notes.
They said....
Believers were called Christians or "Christ-Ones" because all they had in common was Christ - not race, not culture, or even language.

As the body, we are not distinguishable from Christ...who is the Head. We are LIKE Christ as ONE body.

I am not on Tik Tok (aka WitchTok) but it has not stopped me from seeing this "trend" of Moms posting with the caption:

"You better be teaching your children manners, because I am teaching mine witchcraft."

And they are showcasing their children participating in spell work, incantations, making potions, etc.

And yes no weapon formed against a child of God covered in the Blood of Jesus Christ shall prosper...but they are still forming the weapons.

We are instructed to be shrewd as a serpent, yet gentle as doves. Like my son is bold to call out the obvious works of the enemy in any place we enter.

Let US as adults (parents) exercise that same level of childlike faith and boldness when WE teach OUR children who the True and Living God is. Let US boldly proclaim Christ as Lord and Savior over our lives leading by example, training up OUR children in the way they should go. Let US teach OUR children how to plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over themselves. Let US show them HOW to put on the FULL armor of God, so they are battle ready. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Let US show OUR children how to walk in the authority given to THEM by God The Father and the power of The Holy Spirit.

Remember, we are fighting from a place of victory but until Christ comes through those clouds or calls us home....we are still fighting!

And I thank God for the tools He has given us to be victorious through Christ Jesus. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
