6-28-26 • Castro Valley • Multiple Alarm House Fire • At approximately 3:50 PM, Alameda County Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the area of Queen Street in Castro Valley. Upon arrival, crews found a single‑family residence heavily involved in fire, with active exposure threats to the delta‑side property. The fire had extended into the backyard and surrounding vegetation, including several trees. Despite encountering water supply challenges, firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack to protect exposures, contain the spread.

5-17-25 • 12th St & 29th Ave • Commercial Structure Fire • This morning, Oakland Fire units arrived at a structure known for multiple prior fires and found smoke and flames coming from the roof. Because of the building’s condition, crews operated defensively and used master streams to knock the fire down safely.

5‑6‑26 • Multi‑Agency Night Drill • Caldecott Tunnel •

This evening, Oakland Fire, Moraga‑Orinda Fire District, and Caltrans District 4 conducted a simulated vehicle fire inside Bore 4 of the Caldecott Tunnel. Resources from both agencies responded from opposite sides, coordinating suppression, access, and traffic control operations. The Caldecott Control Center activated the tunnel’s exhaust fans to rapidly clear the smoke‑filled bore and support safe entry for responding crews.
