Earlier in the week, I got to make a presentation to a networking group and this little slide stuck with me

Yeah, before you meet anyone, they've already seen your face...in multiple places.

LinkedIn. Email signature. website. Google search before the call, you've done it - you know.

Someone referred you. They want to know who they're about to meet.

All of that happens before you say a word.

In a fraction of a second, a decision has been made.

Approachable? Confident? Someone worth calling ?

The headshot is already working for you.

Not a technically good photo. A photo that's intentional about who you are before people get to you.

And even Ramon could walk into a headshot looking more like an approachable salesman than the industry expert he actually is.

That’s why I coach expressions have to be intentional for.your message to be heard..

A headshot without coaching is like rice without beans. Or sazón. IYKYK. 😂

“Say cheese” gives you an awkward smile.

That sucks and you know it.

The goal isn’t to practice a natural expression in the mirror. It’s to have someone guide you through it in real time until the camera catches the energy people actually know you for.

That’s Ramon right there.

Not just friendly.

Intentional.

When you’re leading an industry, your photo should carry the same weight your name does.

The Wil Party!

The Cast is ready to go for an October 8th opening.

Last Friday portraits at the Factory Underground were a bit different, going for a grungy, noir look but as always technicals dialed in, comfort and confidence locked in, and lots of fun.

Simple, don't go cat fishing people.

Go for something that is more like you,

If you go for some fake version of you that people dont recogy - you'll only make it harder for people to trust you.

Being yourself will pay dividends in the long run.

Felipe asked me this morning why I go out to take photos of strangers.

The frustration? He wasn't coming with me.

Hard to explain to a 3 year old. But I tried.

They're not really strangers by the end of the day. You spend an hour with someone, learn what they're proud of, figure out how they want to be seen.

That's not nothing.

His reply: "Oh, so you make friends and then take their picture?"

"Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is."
