Spring in Minnesota is extra meaningful. After a long winter, it feels like the world is truly coming back to life and we are all coming out of hibernation.

After not creating much for myself for awhile, I decided to go for a walk in the woods and see what I could see. I saw the first signs of the end of winter. Then I found a poem and some music that felt just right. I tried using an AI voice to read the poem out loud, but computers make lousy poetry readers, so I asked my friend Ruth to read it instead. (She crushed it)

So take a minute to watch the film, listen to the poem, and then go for a walk in the woods yourself. Breathe in the spring air. Feel the dirt and grass and leaves and sticks. Watch the animals and the branches waving in the air.

Spring has finally arrived. The world has come back to life one more time.

How important is sound in a video? Listen to this short clip and then tell me.

Carefully sound design can add to the emotion of a video, whatever direction it is going.

Make sure you have someone who understands that and can get it right.

TJ Wiebe is a great football coach. He understands the game, but more importantly, he understands the players and how to keep them motivated and working hard. He has high expectations as well as grace and encouragement when mistakes are made. We could use more TJs in this world.

What does it mean to "let your light shine before all men"? It means something different for each person, but for TJ it means being a football coach who cares about his players character and their heart more than their skills on the field and the glory they can receive. I am thankful to have guys like him teaching and coaching in our local public school.

Sometimes people feel a bit intimidated sitting down in front of a camera, much less two cameras. But in reality, two cameras should put you more at ease because it helps the editor take out more of your ummms and ahhhh and other awkward pauses. It also helps tell the story because we get to see the wider context of where you are, and then zoom in and see your face to catch your emotions.

Have you ever received an award for being yourself? That’s what this feels like.

I joined the Northfield Chamber about 4 years ago, and became an ambassador a couple years later. I love it because I get to meet new people and then bring them into the circle and connect them with others.

This role has taught me the value of my local community, helping me be less anxious about things that are happening around the world and more connected to things that are happening right here in my neighborhood.

I would encourage anyone in business to connect to their local chamber to find ways that they can connect with and better serve their community.
