Two tiny babies, double the cuddles, and a whole lot of love. 🤍

I got so many cuddles from these two sweethearts yesterday, and my heart was absolutely melting the entire time. There is just something extra special about photographing twins—the tiny details, the sleepy snuggles, and the way they already seem to find comfort in each other.

So thankful I got to spend a little time soaking up all this newborn sweetness. 🥹🤍

Welcome to the world, sweet babies. You are already so loved. ✨

With my teacher life starting back up again this week, I thought it was only fitting to share a few things teaching has taught me that actually make me a better wedding photographer. 🤍

Because believe it or not, spending my days in a classroom has prepared me for so much more than just teaching.

✨ Reading the room
✨ Staying calm in chaos
✨ Adapting on the fly
✨ Anticipating what comes next
✨ Communicating clearly
✨ Creating comfort
✨ Building trust
✨ Seeing everyone

Turns out, managing a classroom and photographing a wedding day might have more in common than you'd think. 😂

Both require patience, flexibility, quick thinking, and the ability to handle a little chaos while somehow making it all look effortless.

So here's to another year of wearing both hats—the teacher and the photographer. I'm pretty lucky that the lessons from one get to make me better at the other. ❤️

There’s something so special about a family who can make the ordinary moments feel like the ones you’ll want to remember forever. 🤎

The cuddles, the laughs, the puppy snuggles, the little in-between moments—and yes, even the perfectly imperfect ones. These are the pieces of your family right now, and they deserve to be remembered.

So grateful I got to spend an evening capturing this sweet crew. 🥹✨

Okay, yes… this has absolutely nothing to do with photography. 😂📚

BUT, if you’ve been around here for a while, you may know that I’m also a school librarian and reading interventionist. So every once in a while, I’m going to sneak a little bookish/teacher content onto this page. 😉

And this is something I will always stand behind:

Reading doesn’t always look like sitting quietly with a chapter book.

Sometimes it’s a graphic novel.
Sometimes it’s football stats.
Sometimes it’s a joke book, magazine, cookbook, or a book about Minecraft.
Sometimes it’s rereading the exact same favorite book for the 47th time. 😂

And yes… sometimes it’s reading the back of the cereal box.

It all counts.

If a child finds something they genuinely enjoy reading, let them read it. ❤️

It doesn’t have to be “challenging enough.”
It doesn’t have to be what you would choose.
It doesn’t have to look like traditional reading.

We want kids to become readers, not just kids who can read a chapter book because someone told them they should.

So if they’re reading?

LET. THEM. READ. 📚

And now, back to your regularly scheduled photography content. 😂📸

Your wedding photos should be beautiful. Of course.

But years from now, I don't want you to simply remember what your wedding *looked* like.

I want you to remember what it **felt** like.

The way your hands found each other during the ceremony. The tears you didn't expect. The laughter. The hugs. The quiet moments in between all the chaos.

And most importantly, I want you to actually **experience your wedding day** instead of feeling like you're constantly performing for the camera.

You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to look like anyone else. You don't need to fit into the same picture-perfect version of a wedding day.

You just need to show up as yourselves.

My job is to pay attention to the things that make your connection yours, give you direction when you need it, and step back when the moment deserves to unfold on its own.

Because the best photos aren't the ones where you remember exactly what I told you to do.

They're the ones that bring you right back to how it all felt.

One of the biggest mistakes I see couples make when planning their wedding day…

They underestimate how long everything actually takes.

Family photos take a little longer than expected. Travel time adds up. Someone needs a last-minute boutonniere pinned. A dress bustle takes a few extra minutes.

None of these things are a problem on their own—but without breathing room in your timeline, they can quickly make the day feel rushed.

That’s why I build buffer time into every wedding timeline I create.

Not because I expect things to go wrong, but because I want you to have the freedom to enjoy your day instead of constantly watching the clock.

A well-planned timeline doesn’t just keep your day on schedule—it gives you the space to be fully present, and that’s where the best memories (and the best photos) happen. 🤍

NEW STUDIO ✨

A dream I’ve had for the last few years is finally here, and I honestly still can’t believe I get to say this…

I have a studio! 🤎

This space has been a long time coming, and I am SO excited for all the beautiful things we’re going to create here.

First up — newborns. 🥹 My newborn client closet has officially gotten a major refresh, and the studio is now stocked with new wraps, posing props, bowls, baskets, blankets, and all the little details that make a newborn session feel so special. I’ve been dreaming about having a dedicated space where I can create these sessions exactly the way I envision them, and it’s finally here.

But this studio isn’t just for newborns. 🤍

I’ll also be offering family, maternity, motherhood, milestone, and lifestyle sessions here throughout the year — meaning beautiful, cozy studio portraits are no longer limited to a specific season or dependent on Minnesota weather.

And because I’m SO excited to officially open these doors, I’m offering discounted studio session pricing for sessions booked before the end of August!

✨ Studio minis are also coming soon, so keep an eye out for those!

This little space has been a dream for a long time, and I cannot wait to fill it with your families, your babies, your growing bellies, your laughter, and all of the little moments in between.

Welcome to the new Andi Jo Photography studio. 🤎

Can I let you in on something I’ve learned after photographing so many weddings?

The couples who enjoy their wedding day the most aren’t the ones whose day goes perfectly.

They’re the ones who are fully present.

They laugh when something doesn’t go according to plan.
They steal quiet moments together.
They soak in every hug, every happy tear, and every second.

Because at the end of the day, your wedding isn’t about having a perfect timeline or flawless details.

It’s about celebrating the beginning of your marriage with the people you love most.

My job isn’t just to take beautiful photos.

It’s to create space for you to slow down, be present, and remember exactly how it all felt.

And those are the moments that become your favorite photographs. 🤍

Amelia’s senior session was one that filled my heart in a whole different way. 🤍

We spent the evening at her family farm—a place where she feels most like herself, surrounded by the land, the memories, and the people who helped shape who she is.

And maybe that’s why this session felt so special to me. I spent so much of my own childhood on my grandpa’s farm, so there was something about watching Amelia laugh, explore, and simply be herself in a place that holds so much meaning for her that felt incredibly familiar.

We had the best time wandering around the farm, capturing this season of life exactly as it is: fun, genuine, and full of so much possibility.

Amelia, I hope you soak up every moment of this senior year. And when it’s time to step into whatever comes next, I hope you carry a little bit of this place—and all the people who love you—along with you.

Wishing you the very best in your senior year and in all the adventures waiting for you beyond it. ✨

Kamryn & Andrew 🤍

Surrounded by nothing but love.

That’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think about this day.

It was lively and full of laughter. There were hugs around every corner, people on the dance floor, and so many little moments that made it so clear just how loved these two are.

Nothing felt overly complicated. Nothing needed to be bigger or grander than it was.

It was simply a beautiful day spent celebrating two people who have built a life together, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.

And sometimes, that really is everything.

Kamryn & Andrew, thank you for letting me be there to witness it all. 🤍
