Someone was kind enough to give me a note yesterday and said, “It’s okay if you don’t keep it.”

Oh, I’m keeping it.

In fact, I’ve kept every note, card, tag, and handwritten message anyone has ever given us over the last six years.

Now, I’m known for changing things. Furniture, displays, décor… if I’m over it, it’s probably getting moved, painted, or replaced. You’ve all seen the store evolve more times than I can count.

But these? These stay.

If you’ve ever taken a moment out of your life to write us a note, send a card, or offer a few words of encouragement, please know they mean more than you realize. I keep them all in a drawer.

And on those days when I’m questioning everything, feeling uncertain, or wondering if we’re doing enough, I open that drawer and read through them. One by one.

Words matter.

So please note (see what I did there?) that if you’ve ever written something to us, it has been cherished, saved, and appreciated more than you’ll probably ever know. Those notes remind me why we do what we do when fear or hesitation starts to creep in.

So thank you.

That’s why we always say you’re our candle ʻOhana, because “customer” just never felt quite right.

In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, ʻIke Loa is proud to celebrate 250 Hometown Heroes.

As a small business built on community, we wanted to find a meaningful way to say thank you to the men and women who serve, protect, and strengthen our communities every day.

As part of this initiative, we will be delivering car diffusers to the Oakdale Police Department and Oakdale Fire Department.

After those deliveries, we will have just over 170 diffusers remaining, and we would love to share them with even more hometown heroes.

From June 23rd through July 2nd, any veteran, firefighter, or police officer from Oakdale or the surrounding communities is invited to stop by ĘťIke Loa and receive a complimentary car diffuser while supplies last.

Please feel free to share, so we can reach as many people as possible!

It is a very small token of our appreciation, but we hope that every time you catch the scent, you’re reminded of how much your service means to our community.

Most of the time we tell kids, “Don’t touch!”

But on Tuesday, June 23rd, we encourage it!

Join us anytime between 10:00 AM–5:00 PM for a fun-filled experience where little creators get to scoop, mix, layer, and design their very own custom Bath Fizz blend.

Each child will fill a 4 oz bag with bath fizz in whatever order and combination they choose, creating a bath-time treat that’s completely unique to them. To make it even more magical, they’ll also get to choose fun add-ins for their bath fizz and pick out a bracelet to take home!
