Someone was kind enough to give me a note yesterday and said, âItâs okay if you donât keep it.â
Oh, Iâm keeping it.
In fact, Iâve kept every note, card, tag, and handwritten message anyone has ever given us over the last six years.
Now, Iâm known for changing things. Furniture, displays, dĂŠcor⌠if Iâm over it, itâs probably getting moved, painted, or replaced. Youâve all seen the store evolve more times than I can count.
But these? These stay.
If youâve ever taken a moment out of your life to write us a note, send a card, or offer a few words of encouragement, please know they mean more than you realize. I keep them all in a drawer.
And on those days when Iâm questioning everything, feeling uncertain, or wondering if weâre doing enough, I open that drawer and read through them. One by one.
Words matter.
So please note (see what I did there?) that if youâve ever written something to us, it has been cherished, saved, and appreciated more than youâll probably ever know. Those notes remind me why we do what we do when fear or hesitation starts to creep in.
So thank you.
Thatâs why we always say youâre our candle ĘťOhana, because âcustomerâ just never felt quite right.
Weâre a family connected by aloha, and Iâm grateful for every single one of you.
