I absolutely love seeing everyone's first day of school pictures. The excitement, the fresh backpacks, the big smiles, and yes... maybe a few nervous faces too! These are memories you'll treasure forever.

As you're sharing those special moments on social media, here are a few simple ways to help protect your child's privacy:

✅ Don't include your child's full name.
✅ Avoid mentioning their school by name.
✅ Check your photo carefully to make sure your house number, mailbox, street sign, or address isn't visible.
✅ If you're taking the photo at school, make sure the school's name, logo, or identifying signs aren't in the background.
✅ Be mindful of any student ID cards, bus numbers, or class assignments that might accidentally appear in the photo.

A few extra seconds before you post can go a long way toward keeping your child safe while still celebrating this exciting milestone.

As the school doors open and classrooms begin to fill once again, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible teachers who are preparing to welcome a new group of students.

Behind every beautifully decorated bulletin board, carefully arranged desk, and colorful classroom is a teacher who has poured hours of their own time, energy, creativity, and often their own money into creating a place where children will feel safe, seen, and inspired.

Those classrooms aren't just decorated—they're built with love.

They are places where confidence will grow, friendships will begin, challenges will be overcome, and dreams will take root. They are places where a child may discover a lifelong passion because one teacher believed in them.

As a former teacher, I know the excitement, the anticipation, and yes, even the nerves that come with the start of a new school year. Every year is a fresh opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child.

Twenty years of marriage, countless adventures, a few unexpected detours, lots of laughter, and a lifetime of memories later, I still choose you. You are my greatest cheerleader, my best friend, my safe place, and the person who makes even the ordinary moments extraordinary.
