I will always love a classic wedding. Timeless attire. Beautiful florals. Thoughtful details. And all at one of my favorite venues..The Tea Room in downtown Des Moines as the backdrop.

Sydney and Daniel's wedding was such a beautiful celebration, and I loved getting to photograph all the details that made their day uniquely theirs. There is something special about a wedding that feels just as beautiful and timeless years from now as it does today.

I can't wait to share more from this day!

Here's your reminder to slow down and soak up the little moments with your girls on your wedding day.

Let them fuss over your dress. Laugh until your cheeks hurt. Take a minute to look around at all the people who showed up to celebrate you.

The timeline will move quickly and there will be a million little things happening around you. But I promise some of your favorite memories will be these simple moments with your favorite people.

When you're looking back through your wedding gallery years from now I want you to remember how it FELT to be a bride. Not just how beautiful everything looked.

A little wedding planning advice that might not be on your checklist yet! 🤍

I LOVE a beautiful getting ready space. And while it might not be the first thing you think about when choosing your venue, it can make a bigger difference in your wedding gallery than you realize!

Think about where you'll be putting on your dress. Where your bridesmaids will be helping you with the finishing touches. Where your mom might zip up your gown and where you'll share those last few moments before walking down the aisle.

These are some of the sweetest moments of your wedding day and they're often the moments you'll want photographed most naturally. A space with good natural light, neutral tones and a little room to spread out makes such a difference in how those images feel.

And here's the thing: your getting ready space doesn't have to be extravagant or Pinterest-perfect! Sometimes a nearby hotel suite or a beautiful Airbnb is the perfect solution if your venue's bridal suite isn't quite what you envisioned.

When you're touring venues, don't forget to ask to see where you'll be getting ready. Look at the windows. Notice the lighting. Picture your people in the space with you.

Because your wedding gallery tells the story of your entire day, not just the ceremony and reception. And the story starts long before you walk down the aisle. ✨
