Ecola State Park provided the perfect backdrop for this moment in Jake and Alexa’s lives. And I am so honored I got to be there for it.

And a round of applause for the weather that day 👏 77 degrees! On the Oregon Coast. Absolutely beautiful 🤩

We all watched the forecast with some anxiety as the fires near Sisters threatened smoky conditions as the weekend approached. But Saturday came with blue skies and crystal clear mountain views!

I loved their layout of a ceremony in the field, reception under the trees, and dancing at “Elkatraz”. And each location held a beautiful piece of their celebration.

Natalie and Colton’s wedding was accented by wildflowers, warm laughter, and a community that made us feel like we’d known them for years. There was a gentleness to every part of the day, woven into the way they looked at each other, spoke to one another, and dreamed about the life they’re building together.

By the time we finished editing this preview film, Micah and I were both in tears.

Sometimes this career gives the honor of capturing people you love very much at one of their happiest moments. And I had that opportunity in bulk while photographing my nephew’s wedding, with immediate and extended family surrounding in every direction with their familiar laughter and chatter.

Trevin was a ring bearer for my wedding, and now I’ve photographed his. A very full circle moment.

The partnership between Trevin and Jewel has been beautiful to watch from the very start. And I can’t wait to see what beautiful moments life has in store for them next.

Cannon Beach | Haystack Rock | Oregon Coast Proposal

The coast has many moods, and you have to be willing to embrace whichever one you get.

The weather forecast certainly threw some curveballs while designing this moment.

Alexander and I spent days texting back and forth, tracking storms, adjusting plans, and trying to find the right window for his proposal to Kiana.

The day arrived with clouds, wind, and every reason to think we’d be working with rain.

Then the clouds opened. The beach glowed. The timing worked! And a stunning proposal story unfolded in front of Haystack Rock.

Later, Alexander sent me a message saying it felt like all the stars aligned to make it perfect. And I wholeheartedly agree.

First look and private vow reading with Lucas and Lindsey at Riverhouse Lodge in Bend, Oregon.

Somehow the gentle mist falling only made the moment that much more memorable.
