When you’re choosing your final images, don’t just ask, “Which one do I like most?” Ask which one communicates your type, energy, and the roles you want the clearest.

Get outside eyes. Match the shot to the room. And remember — casting only sees what’s on the screen, not how you felt when the photo was taken.

When you get your gallery back, don’t just ask, “Which photo do I look best in?”

Ask:

🎯 Does it clearly communicate the type of role I’m targeting?
👀 Does the expression feel natural and connected?
🎬 Does it give casting a clear idea of where I fit?
📸 Does it actually look like me?

And get an industry eye on your final choices. Your agent, acting coach, or another experienced actor may notice something your friends and family won’t.

The best retouching shouldn’t make you look like a different person. 📸

It should make you look like you on your best day.

Clean up temporary blemishes.
Tame stray hairs.
Balance skin tone, exposure, and color.
Keep the features that actually make you recognizable.

Because the goal isn’t for casting to think, “Great Photoshop.”
It’s for them to meet you and think, “Yep—that’s exactly who I expected.” 🎭

More headshot looks doesn’t automatically mean a stronger portfolio. 🎭📸

For most actors, 2–3 strong, distinct looks can cover what you actually need — commercial, theatrical, and maybe one more to show range.

The goal isn’t to leave your session with 10 versions of the same photo. It’s to walk away with images that each serve a purpose and give casting a clear idea of where you fit.

Quality over quantity. Every time.
