From the moment he decided she was the one. The moment he walked into that store and picked out that ring. Every day after that carrying the secret, just waiting for the right moment.

She had no idea.

When he finally got down on one knee she completely fell apart in the best way. Laughing, crying, running straight into his arms. You cannot stage that. You cannot recreate it. That is just real love and I got to be there for every second of it.

Victoria and Thomas, Saturday was something else entirely.

The rain came in early and stayed all day. It did nothing to dim what unfolded. Victoria carried herself with a grace you cannot teach, calm and radiant in her gown from the first frame of the morning to the last spark of the exit. Thomas the same. Neither one of them broke stride.

Prince George Church received them the way that church receives every great Georgetown wedding. Candles down the aisle. Pink hydrangeas in those tall green urns. Peonies in Victoria’s hands. Stained glass holding what light the day gave us. The vows were quiet and sure.

DeBordieu Club was a vision. Pink and green florals from the floor to the ceiling, a hand painted dance floor, a green bar dressed in cascading roses, lounge vignettes with brass cranes and silk pillows. A four tier cake of sugar flowers and songbirds set into garden roses and hydrangeas. A room full of people who have known these families for a lifetime, in florals and feathers and black tie, laughing in the right places and quiet in the right places.

built a world inside that tent that felt pulled from a private garden somewhere in the English countryside, every corner considered, every detail in its place.

One Nation Party Band carried the floor through the very last song, and a sparks exit sent them into the night.

To both families, thank you for the warmth of this weekend. Victoria and Thomas, you gave us a day we will not forget.

Spring is my favorite time of year to photograph engagement sessions.

Not hot. Things are blooming. The grass is turning green. The light is soft and golden. There is no better time.

But I want to talk about something bigger than pretty locations and pretty outfits.

Think about 10 years from now. 20 years from now. Sitting with your kids, maybe one day your grandkids, pulling out these images and saying: this is who we were. This is who we loved. This is where it all started.
That is what an engagement session is. It is not just photos. It is a piece of your legacy.

And beyond that, it matters on your wedding day more than you know. When you have already worked with us, you already know how we move, how we pose you, how we see the light. So when your wedding day comes, you walk in relaxed. You walk in confident. You are pros before the ceremony even begins.

Isabella and Sam. Pawleys Plantation. Golden hour that felt like it was made specifically for these two.

There are weddings you photograph and there are weddings you feel. This was one of those days where everything just aligned. The light came in soft and warm and stayed. The Spanish moss caught it perfectly. The greens glowed. And Isabella and Sam were just… radiant. Genuinely, completely, overwhelmingly in love.

I have been photographing weddings in this area for over 15 years. I have seen a lot of venues. And I will say this without hesitation: Pawleys Plantation is something special. There is a reason couples travel from New York, from California, from all over the country to get married here. The grounds are stunning. The architecture is stunning. The way the late afternoon sun falls across that golf course and those live oaks is something you cannot manufacture or fake.

It is just there, waiting for you. And when you pair a venue like that with a couple like Isabella and Sam, the photographs practically make themselves.

Isabella walked out of that venue with her veil catching the breeze and I genuinely had to remind myself to keep shooting. Sam saw her and his whole face changed. That is what you come to Pawleys for. That is what this venue gives you, settings and moments and light that you will spend the rest of your life looking back on.

But today is about Isabella and Sam. Congratulations to two people who clearly bring out the very best in each other. It was an honor to be there.
