Autumn In A Soft Light.
A gentle, dreamlike rendering of the Beach Trail at Ricketts Glen State Park, where the forest seems to dissolve into a palette of soft autumn pastels. Warm golds, muted greens, delicate yellows, and touches of amber blend together beneath the filtered woodland light, creating an almost painterly atmosphere.
The softened treatment gives the familiar forest trail a quiet, ethereal quality, as though the scene has been remembered rather than simply photographed. Sunlight drifts through the canopy and settles softly across the leaf-covered path, inviting the viewer deeper into the peaceful woods.
This image celebrates autumn not through bold, saturated color, but through subtlety, softness, and luminous pastel tones—a tranquil moment along one of Pennsylvania's most beautiful trails.

“Whispers of Autumn at Kirby Park”
September 5th brings a gentle hint of the season to Kirby Park. The summer landscape is still rich with green, but subtle touches of gold and muted color are beginning to appear among the trees—a quiet promise of the autumn that lies just ahead. Framed by the peaceful pond, flowering shrubs, and the graceful spray of the fountain, this scene captures that fleeting moment when summer begins to surrender to fall.

“A September Morning at Kirby Pond”
A warm September Saturday morning brings a quiet little gathering to the pond at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The fountain rises gracefully from the water, its mist catching the morning light, while a family pauses along the shoreline to enjoy the simple pleasures of the day. Two children explore the water’s edge as an adult looks on, surrounded by the green hills, mature trees, and peaceful reflections of the park.

“The Climb to Penobscot” 🚂
Beneath the towering communications antennas of Mountain Top, Reading & Northern locomotive No. 2023 pauses beside the historic Penobscot Station, marking the completion of one of northeastern Pennsylvania's memorable railroad climbs.
The journey from Pittston begins deep in the Wyoming Valley and rises toward the high country of Mountain Top, gaining approximately 1,070 feet in elevation on the way to Penobscot. The route represents a remarkable transition—from the lower valley landscape to the mountain plateau nearly 1,600 feet above sea level.
Here, beside the historic station at Penobscot, the railroad tells a story that stretches from Pennsylvania's industrial past into the present. The Reading Blue Mountain & Northern restored the Penobscot Yard beginning in 2000, and today the route continues to carry both freight and passenger excursions through this spectacular mountain country.
The photograph captures more than a locomotive and a station. It captures the destination of the climb—a place where steel rails, mountains, history, and the enduring spirit of Pennsylvania railroading come together.

Summer Reflections on Bear Creek
On a beautiful summer day in Bear Creek, Pennsylvania, the lake becomes a peaceful mirror beneath a sky filled with brilliant white clouds. Towering pines and lush green trees line the shoreline, their reflections stretching gently across the still water. In the distance, the quiet signs of summer life—a dock, boats, and a welcoming lakeside retreat—add warmth and character to this tranquil scene.
This photograph captures one of those perfect Pennsylvania summer moments when the world seems to slow down, the water becomes glass, and nature provides all the beauty anyone could ask for. A wonderful combination of blue sky, summer clouds, deep green forests, and shimmering reflections, it is a reminder of the խաղաղ beauty found along the shores of Bear Creek.

Title: “Where Life Begins Again”
Description:
Deep within the forest of Ricketts Glen State Park, a fallen and hollowed-out log has become a world of its own. Moss carpets the decaying wood, delicate mushrooms rise from its weathered bark, and a young plant reaches toward the light from within its sheltered hollow. Even the spider’s web becomes part of this miniature ecosystem.
What was once a living tree has returned to the forest floor, where decay is not an ending—but the beginning of new life. Nature quietly recycling itself, one season at a time.

The Power of the Spillway
This unforgettable photograph captures the tremendous force of nature at the Saylorsville Dam in Hickory Run State Park, in the days following the historic flooding brought by the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee in September 2011.
Standing at the bottom of the spillway, I had never witnessed anything like it. An enormous volume of water thundered over the dam, pouring through the landscape with such incredible force that, for a moment, I found myself wondering whether the dam itself could withstand the overwhelming power of the floodwaters.
Using a long exposure, the photograph transforms that violence into motion and texture—the raging water becoming a sweeping, almost dreamlike river of silk while the ancient stone spillway stands firm against the fury.
It was a scene of both beauty and intimidation—a powerful reminder that even in one of Pennsylvania's most peaceful and beautiful state parks, nature can suddenly reveal an astonishing and unforgettable force.

Golden Canopy at Ricketts Glen
A quiet paved pathway curves gently through the heart of Pennsylvania’s Ricketts Glen State Park, surrounded by a brilliant display of autumn foliage. Bright yellow and soft lime leaves form a natural canopy overhead, while a thick carpet of fallen orange and gold covers the forest floor. The serene walkway invites visitors to slow down and immerse themselves in the vibrant colors and crisp air of the changing season. Framed prints available, PM me for details.

Gateway to the Valley: The Market Street Bridge
An elevated vantage point captures the symmetry and grand neoclassical pylons of Wilkes-Barre’s iconic Market Street Bridge. Stretching westward across the Susquehanna River toward Kingston, the limestone arches topped with stone eagles frame the roadway as it leads the eye toward the lush, rolling ridges of the Wyoming Valley. The rich summer canopy and soft light highlight the timeless architecture that links these historic river towns. Framed prints available, PM me for details.

Where the Lake Meets the Creek
Harvey’s Lake Outlet — Harvey’s Lake, Pennsylvania
There is something almost magical about the Outlet section of Harvey’s Lake at first light—or in the quiet of evening. Here, the waters of the lake begin their journey into Harvey’s Creek, creating a peaceful passage framed by lush shoreline vegetation, lily pads, boats, cottages, and the rolling hills beyond.
The soft pink and lavender sky is beautifully mirrored in the still water, transforming the entire scene into a palette of tranquil blues, violets, and rose. The distant hills fade gently into the atmospheric haze, while the reflections in the foreground draw the eye deep into the photograph. Framed prints available, Pm me for details.
