Starting Pride month with a little flashback to one of our favorite kinds of sessions: q***r love, fully at ease.

Daniela (they/she) + Bela (they/them) brought so much tenderness, laughter, and real-life sweetness to this day. The kind of love that does not need to be overly posed or explained. Just witnessed with care.

That is always the goal for us.

No making people fit into weird gendered posing rules.
No asking who is “the bride” or “the groom.”
No turning q***r love into a perfect way to add diversity to a portfolio.

Just documenting people as they are, in love, in their bodies, in their joy, in their story.

Q***r love deserves photos that feel honest, safe, and beautiful all year long.

Today is LGBTQ Families Day, and this one feels personal. 🌈

We’re Alexis + Katrina: married, q***r, two moms raising our kiddo in a family built with so much love, intention, snacks, laughter, and probably more chaos than we planned for.

So when we say family is not one shape, we mean that with our whole hearts.

Family can be q***r parents, trans parents, solo parents, bonus parents, chosen parents, co-parents, multiple-parent families, aunties, uncles, grandparents, best friends who became family, and the people who show up without needing a title.

Family can be biological.
Family can be chosen.
Family can be built slowly.
Family can be complicated.
Family can be healing.

And for a lot of q***r people, family is not just who we come from. It’s who stayed. Who learned. Who loved us loudly. Who made room. Who showed up at the wedding, cried during the vows, fixed the boutonniere, held the baby, danced too hard, and made the day feel safe.

We love photographing LGBTQIA+ families because there is so much story there. So much tenderness. So much resilience. So much joy.

Happy LGBTQ Families Day to every q***r family, chosen family, blended family, multiple-parent family, and beautifully nontraditional family out there.

You belong in the frame.

Hi hello, it’s June. 🌈

Which means Pride month is here, and we have a lot to say.

This month, we’re going to be sharing q***r love stories, LGBTQIA+ wedding flashbacks, education for couples and vendors, silly little gay photographer thoughts, serious reminders, joyful moments, and probably a few feelings because… hi, have we met?

We’re Alexis + Katrina: married, q***r, photographers, professional third wheels, wedding day hype humans, and big believers that q***r love deserves to be documented with care all year long.

Pride month is celebration.
Pride month is history.
Pride month is protest.
Pride month is joy.
Pride month is community.

So welcome to Pride month at A+K.
We’re glad you’re here.
It’s going to be gay. In the best way.

And one tiny Pride month ask before you go: interact with q***r content this month. Like it. Comment on it. Share it. Save it. Send it to your friends. Hype up q***r vendors, q***r couples, q***r families, and q***r artists when you see them.

Q***r content often does not travel as far online as other content, which means organic engagement really matters. Every little interaction helps more people find affirming vendors, safer spaces, and love stories that look like theirs.

It’s Katrina’s birthday today 💜

Katrina is the K in A+K, the dog-obsessed, creative-project-starting, candid-moment-catching human who keeps so much of this business moving behind the scenes.

She’s the one answering emails, helping timelines make sense, keeping wedding days feeling smooth, and somehow still noticing the tiny in-between moments that end up meaning the most.

Her phone is probably lost somewhere in the couch cushions while she hangs with the dogs today, but help us fill the comments with birthday love for her to find later.

Katie (she/her) + Jay (he/him) are married!

These two kicked off our wedding season on the most beautiful May day at Oak Harbor Yacht Club, and we’re still smiling about it!

The soft light, the water, the just-married joy, the people who showed up so fully for them, all of it felt like the sweetest start to the season.

Pan love belongs in wedding spaces.
Pan joy belongs in wedding spaces.
Pan people belong in wedding spaces.

Whether you’re loud about your love, quiet about your love, still finding the words, or simply wanting vendors who won’t make assumptions, you deserve to feel celebrated exactly as you are.

Silly goose themes? Also elite.
Temporary tattoo stations and silly goose themes? Absolutely our kind of people.

If your wedding has tiny weird details, inside jokes, a little chaos, and things that make your guests go “wait this is so them”, we would very much like to document your day.

It’s Alexis’ birthday today 💚

The A in A+K, master of golden hour, plant collector, animal lover, editing wizard, and professional “wait the light is perfect right here” spotter.

She brings so much warmth, humor, and heart into this little business and into every gallery we send out.
