In case you might have missed this post from yesterday:

NOW BOOKING SENIOR PHOTO SESSIONS!!! 🎓

Hello everyone! I am excited to announce that I will now be booking senior photo sessions! I am very excited to launch this service, and I hope to give you great quality images that you can cherish forever! I got creative with my package names, as I wanted to maintain my brand being in the Mon Valley, so each shoot is relating to steel, and the components that make up steel!

Also, for those wondering, I will still be sharing lots of landscape images in my regular posts, but this service is an addition to those posts, which I have used to build my brand of photography capturing scenes up and down the Mon Valley over the last few years.

Here is some info on how my shoots will operate, and what you can expect for a senior shoot:

1. Service Area: Serving the Mon Valley, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas!

2. Primary Booking Days: Fridays and Saturdays, but if you need a different day, I'm willing to work something out with you!

3. There will be a $25 fee if I am required to travel 20+ miles to do your shoot.

4. Each shoot will have a few, to several duplicate digital edits in black and white of some of my favorite images from your shoot, that you will receive with the other colored digital edits.

5. You get to choose a location of your choice for your shoot (i.e. hometown/backyard, school, park, etc.)

6. Payment Method Preferred: Cash, checks, or Venmo. Payment is due at time of shoot, allowing up to one week for me to edit your photos, and you will receive your digital edits via email, in a zipped file.

7. Please Leave me a positive review on Facebook if you enjoyed your shoot, and were satisfied with your images!

8. NO REFUNDS! If you are not satisfied with your images, you can leave me a Facebook review saying as such, as that is within your rights.

9. Rain Date Policy: I will be more than willing to reschedule a shoot in a timely fashion should rain require a shoot to be postponed, and we can come up with a makeup date for the shoot that works for the both of us!

10. Pets are welcome, both large and small for ALL photo shoot packages!

11. Primary ways of contacting me:

While this isn't Big Boy passing through, I thought I'd switch it up and share an image I took of a Norfolk Southern loc...

While this isn't Big Boy passing through, I thought I'd switch it up and share an image I took of a Norfolk Southern locomotive rolling through West Homestead, about 20 minutes before Big Boy 4014 traveled through. I also had one of my followers reach out to me asking if I had captured the train right before Big Boy came through, because his brother was the conductor of this one, so for that follower that asked, this one is for you!

It's always fun when I'm out capturing various subjects up and down the Mon Valley, and some of my followers reach out to me with fun stories of how the photos I share relate to them personally, and sometimes I end up capturing conductors or towboat captains that follow my page, so I always use those opportunities for fun conversations with my fellow followers. I still really like this shot as well, as this freight train travels through as the crowds of people anxiously await for Big Boy's arrival through West Homestead, they greeted this Norfolk Southern locomotive with some friendly waves. Good evening, everyone, I hope you've all enjoyed my images of Big Boy 4014 the last couple of days! Here is a slightly different image from a slightly different distance than what I've shared in the previous two images (one was closer and one was farther away), and a sort of different rendition on this composition, in black and white! I've seen a few other photographers put their images of Big Boy in black and white so I wanted to see how mine would look if I made one of my own images like that, and I think it turned out great! I think it really adds a more nostalgic look and an almost accurate scene from the time period that steam engines like this would have been used in everyday life (minus the modern vehicles and modern utility poles).

Hopefully most of you aren't bored of seeing this beautiful piece of history yet, because myself, and probably quite a few other photographers out there probably still have quite a few more images to share with their respective followers, so here is another shot of Big Boy 4014 rolling through West Homestead from this past Saturday. I'll post the colored version of this one in the comments. Enjoy!

Thank you all for all of the likes, shares, comments, and even some of your own images that you shared in the comments on my image from last night of Big Boy 4014! I have several more images to share with you from yesterday evening, so here is one from about the same angle as the image I shared with you all yesterday, this time, just from a tad bit farther away, which I think shows it's massive size in comparison to the people surrounding it even more so than the image I already shared with you all yesterday!

It was just such a cool experience to witness, and I am excited to share another image of it with you all! I try to imagine back decades ago, when large steam locomotives like this one would have been traveling up and down the Mon Valley and in and out of Pittsburgh on a regular basis. What a time that must have been to have seen! I still have lots more to share with you all from yesterday evening of Big Boy 4014, so stay tuned for those. Enjoy!

Good evening, everyone! Boy (pun intended) do I have a special image to share with you all from the Mon Valley tonight! This afternoon, I set out to capture Big Boy 4014 in West Homestead, and it did not disappoint! I'm sure many of you are familiar with this Steam Locomotive, the largest of it's kind left in existence, and the cross-country journey it's been on for the last few months in honor of America 250! When I heard it was going to be traveling through the lower Mon Valley and onward to Pittsburgh, I knew I couldn't miss this!

I arrived at The Waterfront and got parked around 3:00 pm today to scope out a location I had in mind, and it worked out perfectly! My dad was also able to join me this evening which made it extra special! What an awesome piece of history to witness and what a great experience this was to see this beast travel through the Mon Valley region on it's way to Pittsburgh! I knew this would be a great location to capture this steam engine with the Homestead Railroad Station included to the left of the locomotive, along Amity Street. I was impressed with how many people came out to see Big Boy in West Homestead!

This is a memory I will never forget, and it may be a very longtime until another locomotive like this rolls through the valley, so I was so thankful to have been there today to see it, and it was worth every minute, and every hour I waited for it! I will have quite a few more images to share of Big Boy 4014 in the coming days, but this was far and away my best shot of the day and the one that I wanted to share first with all of you. Enjoy!

In 1775, a battle broke out between the newly settled thirteen colonies and Great Britain because the colonists were unhappy over having to still pay taxes to their government in the UK. They were also not given a right to vote in the UK/British elections, and additionally not given a voice in how that money was to be spent. After the dawn of April 19, 1775, the British gave their best attempt to disarm the Massachusetts militia at Concord, which lead to the war now known today as the "Shot Heard Round the World."

On July 4, 1776, the Founding Fathers wrote the United States Declaration of Independence as they won the Revolutionary War, and established a new country; The United States of America, the best and most prosperous nation on earth! I am so thankful to God for the freedoms we have in our great country, the opportunities, the vast beauty across this land, and the many protected rights we have. I’m also very thankful to every man and woman who has ever served this great country, who have both served and lived to tell about it or gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep it safe and free. From the Revolutionary War, to the Civil War, to WWI and WWII, to the unsettled conflict in the Middle East which remains today, and every war and battle or conflict in between. My hat goes off in honor to all involved in every event, and who are a big reason to why our freedoms have been preserved for 248 years and counting.

Our country is not perfect, and far from it, but one thing is for certain, and will always remain the same; I’m proud to be an American, from a country founded as One Nation Under God, Land of the Free, and Home of the Brave. Have a blessed 250th Independence Day on this July 4th, 2026! 🇺🇸🎇🎆💥

Here's a shot I took a few years ago in Charleroi, PA that is one of my favorite images from this town, one another one of my more patriotic images from the Mon Valley over the last few years. It was a beautiful June mid morning, and not a lot of cars were traveling through town, allowing for this unique angle looking down McKean Avenue in Downtown Charleroi. The American Flag, and the shadowing on the flag, buidings, and the trees really make this composition stand out. I think this shot really brings Downtown Charleroi to life, with the vibrant colors of some of the store fronts. I have several more images I'm going to share today to keep my patriotic Mon Valley image theme going, so stay tuned for those. Enjoy!
