Gathering Queen Anne's Lace for an upcoming photoshoot! 🌼🌼

A popular legend says that Queen Anne pricked her finger while sewing lace, and a drop of her blood fell onto the fabric, creating a dark red flower in the center of the flowerhead.

Queen Anne's Lace, or Daucus carota, is in the carrot family. It is the closest wild relative of the cultivated carrots that we get from the grocery store! The whole plant is edible, but when it blooms in its second season, the stems and roots can become quite tough. Beware if you are a novice botanist, for it does have a look-a-like: Poison Hemlock! ☠️
