Life as a Voyager Photography

Life as a Voyager Photography Photography for adventurous families and those who treat every day like the great adventure it is Hi, I’m Brigit!

Lover of sunshine, bright colours, and seeing everything with the eyes of a traveler

My photography is inspired by my time living overseas and learning to find the adventure in making a life back home
I speak seven languages (in order of fluency/understanding: English, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Chinese, Spanish, and Irish) and know a bit of ASL. Both my oldest and I are neurodiverse and I want

to ensure families like mine are seen, respected, and get the same opportunities for nice family photos as neurotypical families. Do please email and let me know how I can best work with you.

You didn’t think we were done with S+C’s engagement session, did you? You know I had to do it to em (shoot it on film). I’m just so in love not just with how these came out (especially for being on the new lil bb Pentax Spotmatic) but with these two and their love. Genuinely can’t wait for their wedding at the end of May!

Sneak peeks from the first half of S+C’s engagement session this past Saturday! We recreated their first date at Cafe Allegro, reading books that meant a lot to them and with S teaching C how to play cribbage. They showed up with copies of “Dune” by Frank Herbert and “Tress of the Emerald Sea” by Brandon Sanderson and I just knew these were my people. Stay tuned for part two!

I'm not a "look at the camera and smile" photographer. When you come do a session with me, I want to see how much you love your kids and how much they love you. And you don't really do that by looking at the camera and smiling. So we do easy prompts, we play games, and maybe your kids challenge you to a foot race at the end on an 80 degree late September day.

It's definitely not 80 degrees in Montana anymore but there's no better time for photos! Reach out for my November and December availability around Missoula, Kalispell, Butte, and Bozeman.

It's time for everyone's favourite game: digital vs film! I loved this shot of J from last month with her wine glass and gorgeous bouquet (can we talk about how gorgeous it is????) that I had to get it twice. What I don't love? Instagram cropping out the little bee friend who followed her around all day.

If you're starting to plan your Montana wedding or elopement and want your day captured on a mix of digital and 35mm film, I'd love to chat! Shoot me an email or use the contact form on my site. Link in the place where links are 💜

Had the honour of photographing this amazing couple's micro-wedding on their incredibly gorgeous property down in the Bitterroot this weekend. I can't tell you how obsessed I am with these, or how much I've gotten emotional editing them. Stay tuned for the rest!

I have limited dates available for the rest of 2025, but my 2026-27 books are open!

Hi, friends.

As you may or may not have noticed (beause Insta's algo doesn't let you see the content from people you follow in any fashion that could be called "timely" or "orderly"), I've been Scarce on this platform. And I regret to inform you all that I have once again been Thinking.

Thinking mostly about how I plan to interact with this platform and with FB in the future in light of the very stark and very dramatic changes to the hate speech policies. Specifically the ones that let you call LGBTQ+ folks "mentally ill," the ones that show a blatant disregard for the concept of pronouns (a foundational part of our language), and the owner of this platform who is so slimy even snakes would disavow any relation to him.

Unfortunately, in The Year of Our Lord 2025, social media remains a necessary evil. So my Thinking has led me to this conclusion: I will continue to be scarce On Here, but I will pop up from time to time to update you on upcoming sessions, show you fun weddings and elopements I've done, and that's about it. I'm considering a real, honest-to-god newsletter again even though I know no one wants Another Email Thing. Let me know in the comments if you'd sign up for it.

Basically, this is me quiet quitting instagram. I got off twitter long ago. I don't want to and don't feel the need to be glued to my phone 24/7 anymore. I think in light of everything *gestures wildly*, it's more important than ever before to be in community with others and to touch some fu***ng grass from time to time.

Here's a picture of some grass I touched: the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway back in August. On my Olympus OM-1 on Aurora 800, developed by The Dark Room here in Missoula.

You can also find me with this username on the clock app, however long that remains a thing.
