Hi, friends.
As you may or may not have noticed (beause Insta's algo doesn't let you see the content from people you follow in any fashion that could be called "timely" or "orderly"), I've been Scarce on this platform. And I regret to inform you all that I have once again been Thinking.
Thinking mostly about how I plan to interact with this platform and with FB in the future in light of the very stark and very dramatic changes to the hate speech policies. Specifically the ones that let you call LGBTQ+ folks "mentally ill," the ones that show a blatant disregard for the concept of pronouns (a foundational part of our language), and the owner of this platform who is so slimy even snakes would disavow any relation to him.
Unfortunately, in The Year of Our Lord 2025, social media remains a necessary evil. So my Thinking has led me to this conclusion: I will continue to be scarce On Here, but I will pop up from time to time to update you on upcoming sessions, show you fun weddings and elopements I've done, and that's about it. I'm considering a real, honest-to-god newsletter again even though I know no one wants Another Email Thing. Let me know in the comments if you'd sign up for it.
Basically, this is me quiet quitting instagram. I got off twitter long ago. I don't want to and don't feel the need to be glued to my phone 24/7 anymore. I think in light of everything *gestures wildly*, it's more important than ever before to be in community with others and to touch some fu***ng grass from time to time.
Here's a picture of some grass I touched: the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway back in August. On my Olympus OM-1 on Aurora 800, developed by The Dark Room here in Missoula.
You can also find me with this username on the clock app, however long that remains a thing.
