8 of us.
Three generations.

From California to Boracay.
22+ hours. 3 flights. Vans. Boats.
I was anxious about the long flight,
but it went smoothly, and we made it.

Island hopping, snorkeling, swimming in the ocean, something about the water feels healing.
Pool days and sunsets.
And yes — even the girls got massages 😌

December was hard.
Christmas was different without my mom,
her favorite time of year.

This trip didn’t fix the loss.
But it gave me space to breathe, to be together,
and to start the year gently.

Starting the year deeply grateful 🤍

As the holidays get closer at the same time it gets closer to one year without my mom, the pain hits more often and a little harder. She loved the holidays more than anyone I know; and this season feels empty without her excitement and planning. Wherever she is now, I hope she can feel how we much we miss her ❤️
