WHERE TO START with Keiko and Davey’s engagement session... we hung out at their fav brewery and got free beers, cheersed under a Good Vibes neon sign, they told me about how they were at a birthday party together when they were little kids and DIDN’T KNOW IT until they recently found a photo of both of them at the party. Keiko switched from one favorite pair of Rifle Paper Co floral keds to another, and confessed that she has a dozen other pairs at home. We drove to the most glorious beach of all time and took off our shoes and ran along the shore and got tar on the bottom of our feet. I told them about how on John and my honeymoon I got trapped in the ocean for a half hour while skinny dipping because someone drove their truck to our secluded beach and got stuck in the sand (tmi??? 😂) ANYWAYYY we watched the sun illuminate the green waves and mist and make the whole world glow, and then we parted ways and later I gave them 120 photos so someday they can look back on the experience and say “remember when we went on that adventure with that crazy red headed girl, and we wore masks and got tar on our clothes but it was all worth it because DANG we look good together!!”

Rain + the pandemic couldn’t stop Rick and Dani’s freaking awesome wedding from happening. They had an vision to do a first look on this grand staircase and the rain let up just in time, as it always somehow seems to do.

I get asked by LOTS of couples whether they should do a first look- my first response is always “does it sound like fun??” because the most important thing is that they spend their wedding day doing things they enjoy, but my second answer is YEP! John and I did a first look before our wedding and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Besides helping to calm us down before the ceremony (I was nervous!) it allowed us to spend as much time together on our wedding day as possible. If your ceremony starts after 3pm why would you want to spend your first half of the day apart???

Just a warning that if you bring your doggo to your wedding, he WILL steal the show and 80% of your wedding album will be photos of him. Also, I’ve photographed 4 weddings at this adorable venue and all 4 of the couples brought their dogs. LETS KEEP THIS TREND GOING PLS 💕

Prompt: DANCE PARTY!!! Bc when do you ever get to have a dance party in fancy clothes at the most beautiful lake that you just hiked to in Glacier National Park, and have a photographer there to capture it for you???

Jess asked if we could take photos by this red (orange?) wall, and somehow I literally didn’t see it earlier when I was scouting locations for our shoot because it was just a random little bright strip in the corner of the parking structure and I thought nothing of it. Super glad she suggested this gem of a spot bc UM LOOK AT IT.

Been spending a lot of time in these new hiking boots and not mad about it. This summer: Yosemite, Glacier National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Springville, Portland, Bend, Colorado, anyone else have more amazing photoshoot locations they want me at??? 😊

The past 6 days have been a whirlwind! 3 weddings, a flight to Montana, an engagement session and 16+ miles of hiking at Glacier National Park, and now I’m sitting in the airport waiting to fly back to LA. My heart (and hard drive) are full with the memories I’m collecting this summer, and I can’t wait to share some photos of all these adventures with you as soon as I can get to editing! (delayed flights make for some good editing time here in the airport hehe)
