YAAALLL I CANNNOOOTTT 🥲 Never ever ever getting over this weekend’s EPIC intimate wedding 😭🥲

I had the pleasure of capturing Linsy + Taylor’s north shore proposal last year, and here we are, almost one year later, and the two tied the knot in the same special place!!🖤

Linsy + Taylor prioritized time in their day-of timeline for just the two of them for bride & groom portraits. We all had so much fun shooting in the fog & mist, and the rain held off until we were back to the covered ceremony location 🙌🏼

25 of the couples’ closest family and friends were with them for the entire weekend - from the night before, to getting ready, the ceremony, brewery hopping, and last but not least, an insaneeely delicious dinner at in Duluth. It was actual perfection 👌🏼 Remember, your day can be whatever you want it to be, and to prioritize the things that matter to YOU.

Temps in the 40s in Minnesota this week? Dang near tropical out here, kids 🌴 Love a good snowy winter that allows us to snowboard & xc ski, but the sub-zero temps are for the birds 💁🏻‍♀️ Give me snow or give me sun! (plz read that dramatically like it’s liberty or death because that’s how I wrote it tysm)

I challenge you to do one thing every day just for fun... not because it’s on your to-do list, or because it’ll get you one step closer to your next big goal, but just because you deserve at least a 3 minute dance party in your kitchen to Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch (speaking from experience).

Lately it’s been feeling like everything is such a CHORE. It’s dark, it’s cold, we’re still very much in a global pandemic... just have a few minutes of FUN and see how it impacts your mood for the rest of the day 🤸🏻‍♀️😚 Now, in the wise words of Coach, “GO GET ‘EM BOO BOO!”

Kim is a California native who got slightly bamboozled into going to the U of M by recruiters who told her “the winters aren’t so bad! Once it’s cold, it all feels the same no matter how much colder it gets!” (And the lie detector test determined THAT was a lie.) Oh well - she said it all worked out, seeing as that’s where she and Josh met 😏

Kim & Josh scheduled their engagement session for late October, which in Minnesota, could have meant weather ranging from upper 60s and sunny, orrr freezing temps and snow... I’m going to credit Kim’s California energy for the record-breaking temps and perfect weather we ended up with 🥰 AND all the golden hour sun!!☀️

While planning our camping trip to the north shore, Linsy and I had also planned a couples session for her and her boyfriend, Taylor. We figured why not take advantage of Minnesota’s beautiful north shore landscape while we were both in the area!? Little did we know, Taylor had a biiig surprise! Yes, WE. I was equally as shocked when Taylor said “I have one...” when I asked them if there were any more poses, prompts, or locations they wanted to try before wrapping up our session... Taylor grabbed Linsy’s hand and started leading her to THE MOST PICTURESQUE VIEW on the beach... Linsy turned around and mouthed “OMG!!!!” to me - a moment I’ll never forget 😻😂🤧 We finished by celebrating with a beer in the parking lot, and that, my friends, is how you have an epic weekend on the north shore!!!🙌🏼

Getting to be a part of these moments means SOOO much to me. It’s why I (all photogs, really), do what we do. Thank you thank you thank you Taylor for being a sneaky minx and planning the most epic surprise for your FIANCEEE, and for letting me tag along for the ride!!!

Jordan & Bud, where do I even begin?🥺 No words for these two and their families, but I’m going to try my best!

Jordan & Bud (yes, really, another Buddy!) were planning on having their big, traditional wedding in their home state of Oregon... but as we all know, COVID had other plans for 2020. They were determined to get married this year, and decided an intimate wedding with 35 of their closest family members and friends at Bud’s family cabin in Wisconsin was the way to go. Throughout the (short) planning process of the new wedding, Jordan mentioned she felt like this was oddly all meant to be, and this intimate wedding felt way more like them than their original, larger wedding plans ✨

They battled through COVID, cancelled wedding plans, the wildfires in the West, threat of cancelled flights, and a sick doggo right before they left for Wisconsin... but they made it. And it was PERFECT. Saturday was one those MN/WI weather days that reminds us all why we live here (and it was raining back home in OR... another sign they were just where they were meant to be 🥰) Sunshine, a cool breeze, and lots of love filled the air on Saturday, and I’m so insanely happy I got to be a part of it ❤️ Congratulations, Jordan & Bud!🎉
